Potting up.
Posted on Mar 17, 2016 8:47 PM

I have worked more this week so I haven't been out in the garden. Really it has rained or snowed every day for 4 days and has been quite cold. My little greenhouse and even littler heater has kept the plants from freezing. ( I would not have gardened much anyway.)
I went out after work today and potted up my dahlia and zinnia seedlings. I got 82 dahlias and 48 zinnia's. They look really good. Tomorrow it is suppose to warm up and by Sunday they say it will be around 70 degrees. Then I have to watch my babies so they don't burn up.
It was good to get out in the soil again. It makes me happy.
My next potting up will be peppers and petunias.
.............waiting for my tomatoes to come up in their little pots........... rather impatiently I might add!

Jaxzen and Leigh helped me in the garden today. We got a lot done. Jax tilled the vegetable garden, It looks so much better. Leigh helped pick rock (our ground is mainly a gravel pit), and she helped pull weeds,. We took 2 trips to the green waste. The little house yard is coming along nicely, now it is time to start on my yard.

Plans failed

Well, this morning I got up ready for a nice long drive with my Scott. Unfortunately, my Scott wasn't feeling well. So, off to the garden I went. I actually got a lot done. I went after my blackberries and cut all the dead from last year out. They look so much better - and I am glad that they are thornless. I finished cleaning the flower beds out at the little house. There are some weeds that are really difficult to get out. It is going to take me a full day to get those out. I flood irrigate and weeds just love to pop up everywhere. The vegetable garden is ready to till, as soon as it dries out a little.
I am feeling so much better. Not even one dizzy spell today. I am so excited.

A few more things done.

I went to the chiropractor today. I think I actually feel a bit better. I'll see if if stays. After the chiropractor I went to Walmart. (only a block away, how could I not?) I went to the gardening center and couldn't pass up on some, fern, lilies, dahlias and a few other. I got them all planted in pots. I also got my greenhouse completely covered and a little heater in it. I just had a few areas that needed plastic (like the doors).
I also planted some more seeds and put the tray in the greenhouse. I planted in a 288 cell flat. I hope they germinate and grow for me. I planted: Calendula, Alyssum, Pennisetum, Celosia, Cosmos, Nicotiana, Clarkia, Acctotis (blue eyed daisy) and Zinnia Zahara. I have so many other seeds but I am just going to spread them outside when I get the ground ready (hopefully soon).
I was going to work outside all day tomorrow, but my sweetheart wants to go for a ride. So off to Yellowstone we go.

Considering today is a day of rest, I am not trying to go out and do more. It has rained, so I guess I fertilized just in time. For today, I am going to relax, renew and read about you all., Have a great day,.

This is what it looks like out my back window - although this was taken last year when we did have leaves on the trees.
