I did get my peas planted today. What a relief.
I was trying to get my seedlings potted up, I have done really well, I think I have about 200 left to go. That will happen tomorrow.
The greenhouse is almost filled to capacity. All the dahlia's that I have potted up take a whole side 4 tiers high.
The lawns are green and the apricot and one early cherry tree are in full bloom. They are just beautiful. Hopefully we won't get a hard frost.
The magnolia bush is brilliant with dark pink blooms emerging all over it. Hopefully take a picture tomorrow.
I posted a few pictures on the dahlia forum (Getting ready for 2016 season) I have potted up more than 400 dahlia tubers, I will have many to share. I was given a tip to plant the tubers in plastic bags, so I got Quart size baggies and planted in them. I can't believe what a space saver that is. I just hope they will be sprouting and looking good by May 7th, that is our garden club plant sale.
I also have around 70 dahlia tubers yet to come that I ordered through Swan Island Dahlia's and Alpha Dahlia's. I am really excited to get them, they should be here by the end of April when I will just plant them directly in the garden.
I was able to spend all day outside, It was so great! But, Oh, my aching back.
I got the lawn fertilized also which was on my list for today. Now if I could do this every day, I may loose a little weight and get some muscle back.
I need to get the peas in the ground. It has been so wet and I hadn't been feeling well.
You can see all the eyes on this one clump. I got 19 plants from this one. These are the tubers potted up in quart plastic baggies. These are not all of them either.
It has snowed or rained much of the last 2 days. The little greenhouse has stayed around 50 degrees F. and I have little seedlings sprouting. I have pretty much ignored everything for the past week and a half d/t not feeling well, but that is going to end (whether I feel well or not). Saturday is suppose to be a very nice day and I plan on taking advantage of it.
My little pea seedlings need to be planted in the ground. They look beautiful and healthy in their little flats, but it IS time. I hope the ground will be workable.
The spring flowers are heavy with moisture, but they seem to be very resilient.
It was a beautiful day today and I feel awful. No gardening. It seems like every fall and every spring I get the dreaded gamboo and just feel like doing nothing and my yard just waits for me to get better. I hope I can get over this soon.
After work I was able to spend a few hours out in the little greenhouse. I potted up a few things and planted some vegetable and herb seeds. It was a good afternoon.
