A great day!
Posted on Mar 5, 2016 11:09 PM

I wasn't planning on spending almost 6 hours mowing the lawn, but that is what I did. It was the first mowing of the year and the thatch just kept coming up. I went over my lawn 5 times. I watered a little then spread some spring fertilizer. I forgot to take before pictures, but I am very pleased with how it looks now. I saved all the thatch to throw on my vegetable garden.
I got most of the plastic on the little greenhouse. I just have to do the doors and I will start putting plants out there. I am sure I could live outside, I love it.
i did get my tomato seeds planted in pots this evening, I planted just over 200. I am hoping they come up and grow well so I can share.
I didn't get the garden tilled, I guess that will come next week.
Goodnight all, I hope you have wonderful dreams.

These are some of my Hardy Hibiscus. I don't like them quite as well as the ones that open wide. These stay in a cup form. They are beautiful when they are blooming though.

Out in the yard a little.
Posted on Mar 3, 2016 11:29 PM

I have been able to play in the yard a bit the last 2 days. My grandson, Jaxzen, has been helping me for about an hour each evening.
I was able to go to the chiropractor today and he really adjusted my neck and ears. I am hoping it helps.
Also, I have planted more flower seeds in pots, and, silly me, bought more seeds. I was there today and they were getting rid of all their fall bulbs, many were starting to show growth. I filled 2 bags. I am going to plant them in the next few days. (The sign said 50% off, but they gave them to me for free. I really liked it then.)
I believe life is looking up.
Have a great night and a beautiful day. Smiles, Marie

Still Dizzy
Posted on Mar 1, 2016 8:15 PM

Going to Anderson Seed Co. was fun. I saw a lot of new products, many organic. I bought a few flower seeds, none that I really needed, but wanted.
I am still dizzy, getting up and down causes it to increase. I have not felt that I can go garden yet. It makes me so mad that when the weather is so nice and I have a couple days off, that I don't feel that I can get my gardening started without toppling over.
Hopefully I will be upright and stay that way soon. I guess I need a V8.

dizzy

It has been beautiful weather here, so, of course I have not been feeling well. I occasionally get dizzy spells. Well, this one has lasted 4 days :(.

On the upside of things, tomorrow Anderson Seed Co. of Logan Utah is having all their vendors and a gardening class that I plan on going to. My sweetie says he will go with me (if he can play solitaire) while I am enjoying all the information. I hope I feel well enough to go. I plan on coming home with seed starting mix and potting mix.

I got the plastic for my little greenhouse and will hopefully put it up next week. I so want to get things started out there. I usually get my potting soil into pots and let it warm up before adding tubers and seedlings. The dahlia's come up really well that way.

Some of my little seeds have germinated, the canna are doing the best. I have them under 4' shop lights on my kitchen counter. I love to see seeds sprouting.

potting up from soaked seeds
Posted on Feb 23, 2016 10:54 PM

Some of the hibiscus and canna have sprouted. I potted them up and put them under lights this evening. I hope they survive. The hibiscus are from my pure white seeds that I gathered last fall. I hope they will do well.

Thumb of 2016-02-24/MyRee/60261b I don't have a picture of my pure white one. The other one that has sprouted is the medium pink. They are open pollinated so I really don't know what I will get. These were at least 10 inch flowers.
