[ Anthurium 'Sizemoreae' | Posted on June 20, 2023 ]

A. portilloi and A. sizemoreae are currently unplaced taxa and awaiting clarification of their taxonomic status. However, as they are in cultivation/commerce, this entry has been modified to list them as a cultivar for the time being.

[ Orchid (Cymbidium Lotta) | Posted on May 25, 2023 ]

Registered in 1922, this grex is likely extinct as of 2023. It was still extant in 1956 when Donald Wimber included it in his thesis, "Cytogenetic Studies in the Genus Cymbidium".

[ Orchid (Dendrobium 'Suree Peach') | Posted on May 8, 2023 ]

This appears to be a specific clone in commerce under a trade name. It is not registered with the RHS.

[ Guernsey Lily (Nerine sarniensis) | Posted on April 29, 2023 ]

In Australia, specific forms of this species (now considered synonyms) are marketed in cultivation separately, e.g.:

Cape Lily (Nerine 'Rosea')
Cape Flower (Nerine 'Fothergillii Major')

[ Cape Lily (Nerine 'Rosea') | Posted on April 29, 2023 ]

Whilst this former species is now considered synonymous with Guernsey Lily (Nerine sarniensis), it is often sold in cultivation as N. rosea or N. 'Rosea' and marketed as a dwarf pink Nerine. The common red form of N. sarniensis is often sold here in Australia as its synonym, N. fothergillii.

[ Orchid (Cymbidium Via Horizons 'Simplicity') | Posted on April 25, 2023 ]

Despite being marketed, sold and cloned under the name Cym. Via Horizons 'Simplicity', this plant is definitely mislabelled. There is no Tracy's Cymbidium (Cymbidium tracyanum) ancestry in Via Horizons, but 'Simplicity' is clearly a tracyanum-derived hybrid. Andy Easton of New Horizon Orchids, hybridiser of Orchid (Cymbidium Pywacket), believes 'Simplicity' to most likely be a mislabelled Pywacket.

[ Echinopsis Hybrid (Echinopsis 'Sulphur Yellow') | Posted on March 5, 2023 ]

[ Orchid (Aliceara Tropic Lily) | Posted on March 2, 2023 ]

This grex is the cross Orchid (Oncidium Nichirei Lilac) X Orchid (Aliceara Tropic Splendor)

[ Orchid (Tsubotaara Melinda Marie) | Posted on March 2, 2023 ]

This grex is the cross of Orchid (Pabanisia Eva's Blue Amazon) X Orchid (Zygonisia Cynosure).

[ Echinopsis Hybrid (Echinopsis 'Kleopatra') | Posted on February 21, 2023 ]

This hybrid was bred by Ingo Bartels of Germany.

[ Orchid (Cymbidium Alexandra Allen 'Purple Rain') | Posted on February 15, 2023 ]

First generation clones of this selection were made available by 3 Amigos Orchids (South Australia) from 2022.

[ Orchid (Cymbidium Prolific 'Velda Joy') | Posted on February 13, 2023 ]

This plant was originally flowered by Malcolm Osborn in South Australia, who named it after his wife Velda. Divisions have since been shared and it is sometimes seen at orchid shows around the country.

[ Beardtongue (Penstemon 'Stapleford Gem') | Posted on February 3, 2023 ]

This is sometimes confused with Garden Penstemon (Penstemon 'Sour Grapes') and sold under that name.

[ Garden Penstemon (Penstemon 'Sour Grapes') | Posted on February 3, 2023 ]

Unfortunately this often confused with Beardtongue (Penstemon 'Stapleford Gem') and plants of 'Stapleford Gem' are sold with the name 'Sour Grapes'.

[ Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'High Priestess') | Posted on January 28, 2023 ]

Described as a luminata-plicata in AIS Bulletin #336 January 2005.

[ Orchid (Potinara Tricky Love 'Nelly') | Posted on January 24, 2023 ]

This is not a registered grex and so the background is unknown. The genus (Potinara) is deprecated, but without knowing the background it is impossible to update it to the correct current genus. It seems to be available in the US with multiple growers exhibiting it.

[ Orchid (Cymbidium Son of Helen) | Posted on January 9, 2023 ]

As of late 2022, this hybrid grex has been renamed to Son of Helen so as to be consistent with the updated name for its parent, Orchid (Cymbidium Helen Bannerman). See the comment under it for the reasoning behind the name change.
