We came from here
The thread "Our Orchid Blooms in May 2020" in Orchids forum

Another month went by and here we are in June! Hopefully we are all in good health! Group hug
Let me start up June 1. with a couple of "tiny blooms" -
Nageliella purpurea always starts blooming as soon as it goes outside in May for the Summer. It throws out these tiny blooms at the end of very long and seemingly dead and wiggly flower spikes. I flood this mounted plant daily!
Thumb of 2020-06-01/Ursula/034829
And there is the Lockhartia lunifera, this one also seems to bloom better during the outside month and I also like the interesting growth when not in bloom.
Thumb of 2020-06-01/Ursula/41d4a3
This Dendrobium distichum is blooming its heart out right now, but if you blink you missed it! Smiling So tiny!!
Thumb of 2020-06-01/Ursula/428316 Thumb of 2020-06-01/Ursula/03daee
And a few Jackfowlieara Appleblossom blooms are still hanging on

Just fantastic Ursula! Fantastic!
It has been quite some time since I have seen a Nageliella purpurata, it is really wonderful to see one again. This really takes me back to the 80's when they always seemed to pop up on Society tables and in Orchid Shows.
I can't remember the last time I saw one! It has been a special treat to see yours. Thanks.

It is sure nice to have a reliable repeat bloomer when you are looking for a pretty bloom to start the month!!
I am waiting for Carol to chime in, she is also growing this one for many years. @CtCarol

This has now become a twice-a-year bloomer. I love these flowers. Emerald Isle has now completely opened, with flowers on top of one another.

Yes that is it , BigBill... the tag I have does not include 'dancer', but yes, that is what I have.
Thumb of 2020-06-02/terrafirma/2015ca

It has the 'Ching Hua' spots...

Okay. There are a couple of different clones I think. Dancer and spots are just 2. The average pair of eyes could not separate the two.
Beautiful regardless.

Ken, it's always wonderful to see both those flowers! Lovey dubby
Tara, you are ahead of me on the Rlc. Waianae Leopard 'Ching Hau'... mine is still in the sheath.
I can't take credit for this flower...only for not blasting it or knocking it off the spike

Seeing some beautiful blooms from you east coast people to start the month! Unfortunately, I have nothing to compare.
Ursula, Buds blasted on Bifrenaria harrisoniae, Leptote bicolor only had 5 sorry looking blooms, Coilostylis parkensoniana is showing nothing yet (though it usually blooms in June), and ditto for Nageliella...it only has a few viable spikes so far.
Here is what I've got now;

Lindsey, he sure picked a beautiful flower to name for you.

Edited to say it is more than beautiful, it is exquisite!

NoID - sorry. The story behind this is that an orchid collector in Baja California died and his collection was sold. My best friend bought one and when it bloomed, said "Ecch! Maybe my friend who likes weird flowers (me) will take it." It was a tagged hybrid with both parents listed, and I lost the tag D'Oh!
I'm keeping it anyway.

I'd keep it too, Diana! Love it! But then again, I'm a "weird flower" lover too! Hilarious!
To me that is worth a 4 year wait!

Nothing weird about a Paphiopedilum rothschildianum hybrid!!! They are gorgeous.
Why bother with Phalaenopsis? Shrug!
