I received the first peony root for fall planting. The weather is really fall-like. I still hope we will have something better in near future, it's cold and the soil is wet.
I am happy with roots that come from Lyndaker Farm. This is Seedling Krasnovy.

Ofuji Nishiki went to the similar huge pot as Center Stage. They will go to the cold but not freezing space in the near future.

Lovely big roots Anya, I'm so glad I ordered a lot from Gold City.
I also got an email that my first order from Wild will be delivered soon, at the time I didn't know I would be traveling. The second order I specifically requested them to be sent later, like in Oct.

All your roots are amazing, Anya! You can get extra divisions from almost all of them!

Beautiful roots, Anya!

I too received my order from Gold City, but I haven't opened it yet.

My poor Ofujinishiki was flattened by flood debris. I have dug it out, but all it's leaves are gone. The flood debris was stacked three feet high in that bed. I have now estimated that the floodwaters were anywhere from 2 to 5 feet high over my entire property. The only spots that didn't get flooded were up at the top of my driveway! 😳

It is going to take me a long time to clean up. But I am sure I will get a lot done over the winter.

Beautiful roots Anya. You will enjoy them all, especially Summer Glow. LG I am sorry for all the mess caused by flooding. I certainly understand a big loss after my experience with moving last year. I saw Arrowhead Alpines in a comment on this forum and decided to try them. The prices were $20 or less each plant and I got 3 tree peonies. They are all seedlings from their farm. Here is a pic:

Thumb of 2021-09-14/graycrna4u/c043cc

Each seedling is about 1 and 1/2 feet high with healthy leaves and are own root. Well packed and healthy looking. I am excited. No division. The entire seedling.

Sorry, LG! This sounds awful! I hope your plants will bounce back after you free them from debris. A lot of work!
Alex, I was tempted to divide 2 roots but decided to plant them as received. I don't have more space for peonies and my friends also cannot take more already Hilarious!
Gary, nice seedlings! Hopefully you will see flowers soon.

Gary...mine from Alpine are in the ground since June(ish) and still doing well. I read up on alpine soil and it is sandy and rocky (got lots of that!) mixed in a little dirt and made a mound of it on top of my rocky sandy soil. I can water them and it runs thru quickly. They are doing fantastic. Need to feed them this month.

Gary, those seedlings look great! And you can't beat the price. It will be fun to follow along and see what they end up looking like. It is so nice that they are own roots.

Thank you all for your sympathy on the flood mess. I am thankful for what I have, and am sorry for the ones whose homes were completely destroyed. We are all facing the consequences of climate change directly or indirectly, and it's just going to get worse.

My garden has always been my sanctuary, and I hope that it will continue to be so in the future.

LG, I'm so sorry about your flooding. I hope your clean up goes well over the next seasons and that next spring brings you a treasure of wonderful surprises for your efforts. And may your garden still be that sanctuary.
