LG -

Hopefully things clean-up nicely and you end up getting some extra nutrients that give you a banner year in 2022.

Thanks again to all for the kind support. I wonder if at some point some peony seedlings will emerge, as it took the seeds that were ripening!

Today I received Ella's Dream, one of Lyndaker Farms soon to be registered woody seedlings. I am really excited about this one!

I also received a shipping notification from Hollingsworth.

That's a gorgeous root, LG! I got 3 tree peonies from Cate this fall, asked that they not be shipped until next month, though. Something to look forward to!

One third of my Gold City order is in, Homestead Farm's arrived in a large box, and finally a set of two roots from Hollingsworth showed up today while I was prepping the others. Anyhow, the three orders break down to 26 plantings and 1 that will be bagged (I nipped an awkwardly growing root with a fair section of crown from a root - it might not grow, but then again...).

It has been really, really dry here and before I can plant, I've got to saturate the bed. This is my third year of larger scale planting and so far this is the most difficult year due to the hard ground. I will be glad once we get some meaningful rain, but I don't have the time to wait for it.

Huge roots! I have to get my roots from Solaris at the post office tomorrow, the mail carrier did not put them in a mail box. We got the first snow today, very little but still. Way too early!

Blushing princess - do I need to be worried about the holes? I never received peonies roots with holes in them before.

Helen, your roots are good, they are divisions of establishes plants. In Adelman's they ship 3-year old roots and they look so nice. The older peony gets the more holes appear in the root. The eyes look perfect and you will be glad to see good growth from these roots..

Thanks Anya! That's a good tip to know! I was worried they were wounds from bug or digging and was going to put cinnamon on it.

I have always received roots with holes from Gold city. It's like Anya said… they are from older plants.

So sorry to hear that you already have had some snow, Anya!

Everyone's roots look gorgeous!

How many eyes are there on that Magical Mystery Tour from Solaris, Frank? It looks phenomenal! (Assuming the roots were in the same order in your photo as the names) .

That is an amazing Old Faithful! thanks for the clarification!

Here are my roots from Hollingsworth. They are very fresh.

Zus Braun. There weren't many photos on the internet of this variety, so it will be interesting to see the blooms. I bought two in case it is a really nice variety. Thumbs up

Looking good, all! What an exciting time of year.

LG, I'm glad you decided to go for Petticoat Parade. I have high hopes for this plant and would love to hear what you think of it.

Anya, crazy to hear you've had snow already. A few years back we had it in the first few days of September. I was not impressed! Let's hope it stays away for a while now.

I've received plants from Pivoines Capano (Mano has just recently sold the business but will stay on one more season to guide the new business owners), the CPS root sale, and Les Jardins Osiris and will post some photos later today or tomorrow. I have shipping notifications from Solaris, Hollingsworth, Adelman, Blossom Hill Nursey, and En Fleurs. So exciting! I love this time of year.
