Do any of you watch Garden Answer? Her gardens are amazing but I find myself watching her plant things and wonder how the heck they make it! Transplanting in the heat of summer without even wilting or losing buds? That just doesn't happen for me!

Liz, I just watch some of her videos, she has green grass, I envy her. I need to redo my yard too. Probably get rid of some large tan bark and put in different smaller mulch.

I have moved away from Garden Answers as there is no way I am going to mass plant proven winners annuals every year. It is nice to see but not what motivates me. My new favorite is John Lord's Secret Garden on YouTube and I also enjoy the Midsized Garden, also on YouTube.

Nor would I with some forms of propagation I've seen shown.
It just may be a naturally inclined tendency to succeed for some.
Though I think in certain instances, their climates, be it summer or winter, just may be the perfect season for what ever they might be getting to produce roots.

If, I really pay close attention to seed sowing, I can manage to get many things to germinate, & grow.
While I don't seems to have a natural knack, for successful propagation of little tiny pieces of roots, or even stem cuttings, to grow. Spare for a few times with Pelargoniums , & African Violet leaves.

I thought Barcelona just had a decent snowfall, since the last event, some 50 years ago.

Sorry I haven't any suggestion, for an interesting link, to a "Must Watch, Garden Video."

No.

I used to, but the constant product placement ruins my viewing experience. As in....I don't need a close up shot of a felco pruner. You're pruning. I GET IT. Additionally....

1) I despise Proven Winners. They have used systemic insecticides in the past. Supposedly they've stopped. I won't take the chance and simply take their word, I just won't buy their product. I will not support them.

2) I despise the constant product placements. The fertilizers, the soil, the pots, the containers, the seeds....ENOUGH ALREADY....

That channel is so riddled with product it takes away the true meaning of gardening. Sadly, a lot of YouTube gardening channels are this way. I won't watch. "Crime Pays..." is right up my alley.

"Paul T's World" is another youtube channel I also regularly watch. He gets the true meaning of gardening. He does a lot of segments on birds. Based in the UK, he's got a great sense of humor, and a beautiful English garden. If anything, watch for the British robins. Ooh emm gee🤗

Edited for typos!/clarification

Your video was great, LG! I subscribed, will be watching for future videos....there's certainly a market out there for peony videos specifically....I mean, when you have a plant where new varieties sell for over $500 a root there should be videos out there that show them!!!!OBVIOUSLY they're popular and would draw attention! Hope you do tons more!
As for Garden Answer—I think her gardens look amazing, like the videos where she works on filling those beds that aren't lush looking. I'm absolutely awful about figuring out where to place plants so those videos fascinate me.

Thanks for the tip on Paul T's garden, Sassy. I watched the one from April, and loved that he points out the butterflies and birds, too. I just adore watching them in my own garden. I have subscribed to his channel and look forward to his 2021 posts.

Thanks for the support, Liz. I posted another video already. I'm practicing so that when things start progressing in my garden, I can take actual videos and share them. Right now I'm using my photos to make slideshow videos.

I watched Paul T's garden too, his garden seems to be what my garden would be if I had more land. I also watched Garden Answer of her parent's garden. Her and her parents gardens are much too nice, they must have some help, there's no way I can keep mine that nice. I get no help here, just me and my husband.
Here is a tiny urban garden that has inspired me since year 2000. Following the dot com burst, my husband and I were unemployed for a year and we did live off our garden.

That's another point I wanted to mention: it's TOO perfect. Put P Allen Smith in her place and it's the same scenery. Highly manufactured. Over-produced. Nary a butterfly or bird anywhere. That's not the real world of gardening. 😑

Re: peonies, since this IS Peony forum: I have a peony bush growing in my SHADE garden. I just wanted to brag😛 I might have a photo somewhere.

Nicely produced little shows, for some first time uploads LG. I thoroughly enjoyed them both. Thanks for sharing.

Then, almost before I knew it, next thing I watched, was one about starting Peony seeds in a baggy !

Sassy, we would love to see your photos of your peony in the shade garden!

SoCal, at least you had nice fresh food during your difficult time.

Thanks Shawn! I'm glad you got to watch a video about starting seeds.

I had several peonies growing in the shade, some better than others. Most were no names but had Singing in the Rain there and in full sun. The shade is dry shade, well under a massive pine tree in my front garden and even with drip lines that soil is like dry cement...a few of those peonies are still there and doing well, o hers were dug and are in AL now.
As for GA—they definitely have help inside and out! She talks about them quite often and even discussed hiring more people.
It feels like I'm defending these people here—not the case and not like they require it! For me, I look at that huge, gorgeous garden and get inspired to do something to improve mine. I'm not envious nor do I want to replicate what they have, just another pretty garden to look at. Just as happy to see Jess's garden on Roots & Refuge or any of several others I follow.

Liz, I do get inspired, thanks for mentioning GA. Yesterday I went out to Home Depot and looking at the Brunello containers.

Ok, busted. I DID steal this project from GA:

Thumb of 2021-01-14/SassyBloomer/d6a51b
To your left, peony row. On your right, a NEWLY PLANTED native garden catered to songbirds. Added the pellets and native garden last Fall. The pellets will be fine-tuned come Spring.

I don't mind videos that contain ideas for projects. That's the only way I would tune in. Anyway, I had LOADS of pellets just sitting in the yard doing nothing. When I saw the GA video for this, lightbulbs went off.🤗

Correction: those are not pellets. That is leftover lumber from various deck projects that my husband cut down to size.🙂👍🏻

I actually love that pallet walkway! There's a bridge on our new property that is over a low lying area, was hoping to try that project in that spot!
