Went to the POE Preview last night... Great show, great sales area, very good wine, food was so-so, I guess you can't have everything. But I tried! First stop was Tom Perlite's Golden Gate Orchids booth, picked up a Vuyl Nova, and a Rhynchostele cordatum, next was Andy's where I pickup a Lemboglossum rossii (in spike -which was broken by the guy at the plant hotel Grumbling ) and L erhenbergii. Picked up a couple different leafless orchids at Ooi Leng Sun Orchids, honestly I'm not sure if these are really even alive, we'll see. Picked up a rare Cyrtochilum species (villenorum) from Dan at Hanging Gardens. After that I went out to the show to take pictures. Sometime later I accidentally wandered back in the sales area and went by to talk to Tom. He was busy, and his (big) booth was getting sparse, that's when I discovered a nice xanthotic Oda in back of some yellow Odontocidiums. Seems everyone had overlooked it. It ended up going home with me. Pictures will have to wait, got home too late last night, didn't even have time to download them yet. Best displays were by Marni Turkel, Four Friends (Steve Beckendorf and co.), Andys, and Living Green (or something like that - orchids supplied by Tom Perlite). Good show Hurray! , anyone in the area should plan checking it out.

BTW, If you want to buy unusual stuff you HAVE to go to the preview. If you want to by Catts and Phals wait and go in the daytime. There were gorgeous Phals and Catts everywhere, and the show is very poorly lite for the preview (except for the displays that brought their own illumination).

On further thought, can you accidentally push 'Purchase now' on an interet order? Rolling on the floor laughing

I'm absolutely SURE that this is possible. I actually bought a camera this way once when a friend was looking at some stuff on my computer!

Here are the goodies from the show (at least the ones that were in bloom):

pronounced Pur-lee-tee, despite how it looks.

Nice article. Walking in to Golden Gate is a treat. Virtually every plant is perfectly grown, and we're talking acres at the main nursery. He also has greenhouses in Pacifica for Odonts and other cooler growers. There are always many plants in bloom, any time of the year, and every thing is so well organized. To top it off, Tom is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet.

Thanks for the nice comments.
