Being alone has its pluses! But if you advertise that nice dinner, I may ruin it all and drop by! Hilarious!

Price of admission is a Schomburgkia. You can pick one up in Apopka on the way down. Rolling on the floor laughing

Woohoo, just heard from Laurel and she and Steve will be making another Miami run in mid-May to care for their house there. They want to meet me in Apopka on the way to/from. Now there are 3 reasons to make the trip. I just started the truck. Wait...maybe it's too early for that.

I'm sure that some of the newbies here are wondering about Apopka! Jim, You would be the best one to explain it...don't worry, they don't all live in Florida. Hilarious!

Good haul, Carol!

All I know of Apopka is that there is a big, big hill there. I was going 52 mph on my bicycle, screaming all the way down.

That, and there is a nursery there that has great cactus.

Hilarious! Hilarious!

Apopka is a small town just to the northwest of Orlando. It is loaded with plant greenhouses, many are orchids. It is the home of Krull-Smith and Chaplin's orchids as well as several Asian importers who store the plants until shipment out to retailers like HD and Lowe's. I found it through my Master Gardener contacts and have met Laurel and her husband there several times. I'm sure there are many places yet to be discovered. A few of the importers sell for very low prices and you can make a killing once you get the hang of it. Here is a look at $10.00 vandas at one of the joints. Such fun!

I often kid Kathy that if she went there her buying shoes would explode. Hilarious!

Well, I was told it smelled cinnamony in the evenings, but while it's pleasant, it doesn't smell like cinnamon in the mornings!
