Epigeneium chapaense has arrived. I stopped by Black Jungle on my way home today to look for a bog plant. I may not have enough sunshine. Sad
So I bought some cool plants.

That's not a great pic. There was one open at Black Jungle and the flowers have these beautiful dark stripes that don't look as well on this pic.

I just recieved two new ones from Hausermann. Laelia purpurata v. carnea x self and Den. Oriental Smile 'butterfly'. They appear to be in good shape, but the big pot was still pretty moist after four days in a box, and as I ordered by phone, I got no invoice of any kind, just the tracking # from UPS. They gave me the sales total on the phone, but I won't know what the shipping charge was until I get my Visa bill. I'm not thrilled about that.
Two good leads on the Laelia, but no sheaths yet, and the leaves seem pretty dark, so probably not enough light. I haven't unpotted them yet. I wanted to get them out in some fresh air!

Wonderful choices, Carol, and the plants look good. I can't wait to see the blooms.

I think I'm getting hooked on Laelias. So far, they seem to do well here, and Kathy is such an enabler. Hilarious!

Carol, it seems like you go through stages like I do. I was into Laelias, then went after Bulbos, then Brassavolas, then Stanhopeas, then Vandas, then Schomburgkias and now species Dendrobiums. Meanwhile, I went after weird palms, tropical fruit, cycads and am now investigating Dasylirion. It is just a personality thing. Confused

One of the reasons I like the Laelias is that I love the form of the flowers. The other reason is they aren't quite as picky as the big Catts....especially the Mexican ones. I want floof, but I'm limited somewhat by my environment. Most of the Laelias seem to be more upright growers that Catts. too, which helps with the space issues.
The Dens. seem to do well here too. Now if they would only stand up! So far Coelogynes and Zygos. are doing well for me too. The first thing I look at when shopping is "temp. tolerant"! Anything that is a rampant grower or rain forrest gets scratched off my list. (usually) Hilarious!

Just received shipment of plants from Paramount Orchids. They spent 9 days in Postal system which guarantees 2 day delivery, but suffered no ill effects.

Phalaenopsis Fred's Hilo Lip - these are on raised from seed, so can be hit or miss as to color of lip, very difficult to mericlone this plant. Leaves are very red.
Phal I-Hsin Gold Coin 'KH5193' which ended up being Dtps. I-Hsin Elegant Peoker by mistake.
Phal Mini Mark in bud
Lc White Spark 'Panda'
Paphiopedilum gratrixianum 'Talbot' x 'Tom'
Paphiopedilum philippinense var roebelinii
Paph Lady Isabel
Cochleanthes Moliere in bud
Dendrobium Nora Tokunaga in bloom.
GIFT PLANT Paphiopedilum Yi-Ying Northern Lights

Very good looking plants all in all.

They look great considering nine days lost in the postal system. It reminds me of when my mother died here in Florida and was to be buried in Indiana. They lost the body, casket and all, for three days. Finally found her in Alabama somewhere. It's kind of funny now that I think about it.
