A new TP. Jitsu Getsu Nishiki. Planted in November. Got it for $25 and didn't even realize it had a bud.

After the night of bad storms, I had a few broken stems. But overall it was ok. Today, it was sunny but windy with a lot of drooping buds. Hopefully some sunshine will straighten them back up.

Dianne, those peonies are wonderful!!!

Gary, so glad they mad it through the storms. That $25 peony looks very healthy!! I've spent a lot more on a tree peony that rarely blooms. Crying

Can't wait to see more blooms!

Love seeing everyone's pictures Lovey dubby I didn't bring any peonies when we moved last year, but we have a tree (supposedly) peony and a regular one that I'm waiting for buds on (our neighbors peonies have buds I can see from across the street *grumble grumble*) but one of them (deciduous? Shrub? Regular? I'm not sure what to call it) is in some pretty dense shade most of the day so I'm thinking I'll move it after it blooms, or this fall. Whichever comes first Hilarious!

Hi Sara, if you live in Middle Tennessee, plan a drive out to Iris City Gardens. They don't list Peonies on their website, but they have a lovely display garden and sell potted peonies. Of course their Iris are gorgeous, too

Hi Bumplbea,

Your reaction was the same as mine when I first saw Angel Emily. Hurray! I had to have it!! She came from Solaris Farms. In the description it says the mother plant bears up to 80 blooms!! Can you imagine that? I just checked, and they are sold out of it. You have to get on their webpage as soon as they open it up for sales to try to buy the tree peonies. They are more difficult to propagate, so stock is limited. It took me 2 years to buy Angel Emily, so don't give up.

LG I honestly have no idea, there is for sure one greenhouse nearby but they haven't posted anything about peonies online yet. I promised myself and my bank account I would buy minimal this year (had to get some sedum at lol) to figure out what's growing and then who gets to stay and who goes.

Mieko...OMG you waited 2 yrs for Angel Emily... that's devotion and well worth it. I'm determined to find it thanks for the info.

I ordered one similar to Emily since out of stock found one from Solaris called Fuchsia Ruffles.

How long did it take for Angel Emily to grow flowers after planted. My tree peonies took 3 years especially after the 3rd year of no blooms I threaten them they would end up in the burn pile if they didn't bloom. It worked and they finally bloomed. Pic of fuchsia ruffles.

Angel Emily sure is lovely. I don't have any peonies in that color range.

I have tried to grow Kinshi several times. I finally got one that actually survived two years and now has a bloom.

I have peonies in quite a few spots throughout my front and back yard. Sometimes you never know how well they will do even though you treat them all pretty much alike. I have had plants that took off in the 2nd or 3rd year, and others that sends out 1-2 measly stalks for over 10 years. I haven't the heart to dig them out as long as they are not totally dead.

This red charm is about 7 years old and stays small - with just a few flowering stalks a year.

This Pink Hawaiian Coral has been very robust from the beginning. This is one of my favorites - love this color. It is one of my earliest HP bloomers.
