Those are beautiful Lilies! Drooling What are the names? I just re-potted my Mandevilla today and put it on the front steps. It has beautiful red flowers. Only one bud, but the show will be starting shortly! Hurray! Hurray!
Here is picture from last year, I will take some new pictures when it blooms again, I got it for 2.50 last October at Lowe's and I kept it in the house all winter, for this year. Green Grin!

I just got my order from Romence Garden's sale!

Daylily 'Primal Scream' has buds
Helenium 'Rubinzwerg' should bloom soon
And Knophifia 'Red Hot Popsicle' looks great too.

3 new members of the pot ghetto! When they get used to the heat, they will be planted some place. Lol. I don't really like Dayliles, but it was on sale and looks like a good variety! Hurray!

Love this term! Too funny.

My DH, who is usually very quiet about what bothers him, finally admitted the other day that my 'pot ghetto' makes him feel like we have a rusty old truck sitting in the back yard. As a winter sower, my pots are not as neat and tidy as the pic I saw on the first page or two of VirginiaRose's, though I try to tidy them up.

Might have to consider an alternate solution... maybe keeping them farther back in the yard by the shed, but then watering becomes an issue.. Was hoping to have everything planted before July, but now have decided that some perennials will need to stay in pots until fall, and of course I've made more purchases (couldn't pass up the Park Seed Flower show last weekend... and came home with a trunk full for a new shade area!) Of course those I will get planted, since they will be protected by the shade! Its the small WS'd sun perennials that will be long-term residents of the ghetto.

I know what you mean, got another order from Santa Rosa, just a few more, just a few more! Ok i'm done, except for the tree and shrub from LazyS's. Well I just had to have a cross pollinator that all. *Blush*
I would love to move the pot ghetto to the other side of garage but they would not get watered, out of sight out of mind, besides there is no faucet over there. if they were not next to the hose they would be dead. It's a convenience thing. Green Grin!
oh did I say I was done? I meant for spring, next is the Irises for fall shipping!! Hurray!
I think I need some Day lilies too!! Hurray!

(of course I DID get 5 or 6 of her hostas Sticking tongue out )

Ha! New shade bed (or Woodlands Walk :), 1250sq ft. or so. Kinda in-between a 'bed' and a whole new part of the yard. Trees finally grew up enough to get serious about doing something underneath them. Limbed up the trees, put in a few paths, compost and pine needles. Now I'm going crazy for Shade Plants. Might be a while before I'm done with Hostas, though if you check my list you can see the zillions of plants I've already gotten. Most interesting is 'Praying Hands', oh and a little mini I got at Park Seed last weekend, Pandora's Box.

Sounds like you both love hostas, what are your favorites, and why? The hardest area to fill is going to be a corner that is full shade winter and summer. Have a holly border on south and east side of the bed, so anything close to them isn't going to get much sun even in the winter when the other trees lose their leaves. So far I've got some ferns, Aspidistra and Hosta Big Daddy in there (I think it will look nice with the Japanese painted ferns).

I love Praying Hands.

I recently bought most of the American series, and they are looking gorgeous.

Holy cow Polly, that's a lot of hostas! You must really have a lot of space! Are there certain hostas that keep their color better in the shade and some that don't? A friend gave me a variegated white and green one that she mentioned was pretty much like that because it had been in so much sun, and that it would be more green on green in the shade.

Here is a quick video I did, mainly to show the space I'm working with, as the plants aren't big enough to get a good look at yet. Sorry for the bad video work, was a quick spur-of-the-moment trip one morning responding to a question on another forum. Will do a better one once I've got it more tour worthy!

I do have a lot of space, 63 acres, but what has happened is my earlier planting have grown up and now there's a lot more shade, so I'm sticking hostas here, there and everywhere.

Your area is going to be beautiful!

Susan can probably tell you better about the hostas that can take more sun or shade. Mine are all in mainly shade,.

Going to add to the pot ghetto, guess I'll never get organized. DH saw an ad in our local Penny Saver for free plumeria cuttings, well can't pass that up. I called the gal and will go over there this evening and pick some up. I guess she has a lot of different colors, that makes me happy. Just wish I had a lot of space, but then I think DH would find a lot more junk to add to it. Have to get more potting soil I guess, never ending addiction. Glad I don't have to take anything in for our winter months, just wouldn't find room for anything.

Big Grin Polly,You are right I am never really done with Hostas!
Green Grin! Kelly, If I had a space that was full shade I would add some of the Hostas with a lot of white in them, like Blue Ivory, I have moved mine three times, it doesn't seen to like any sun at all. If you are in the south you might like to try the sun-tolerant Hostas they are more heat tolerant than the others and they can put up with a little sun depending on how far south you are. For you and me probably just morning sun or a couple hours of late evening sun.
I use HostasDirect a lot because they have a good data base and list Hostas by options like sun tolerance, or slug resistance or size or color. I printed out a list of Hostas that are both sun tolerant and slug resistant and I shop from that list most of the time. http://www.hostasdirect.com/pl...
Green Grin! Pegi, last year I took in a Mandevilla and I don't really want to do that again. Sad
I did just get two more hostas and a couple of blanket flowers yesterday from SRG to add to my pot Ghetto. My favorite hosta was only 4.99 so I got two more. This hosta gets very yellow and is sun tolerant and slug resistant. It is called 'Rainforest Sunrise' and this is a picture of the one I have and they seem to grow fast, I got this as a bare root in march and it is big, but these only get 18 inches wide so they can go anywhere if you need to add some color or just want something to put up with a sunny spot.
