I love checking this thread every morning and seeing all of the amazing lilies you all have been posting! It is so inspiring. I only wish I could take better photos with my phone camera (the only camera I have). Everything I photograph either comes out blurry or overexposed or both.
We are also bone dry here in this strange, strange year. Every time we have a chance of rain--even when promising storm clouds approach--it always bypasses us. I have been watering with the hose, but I can tell many plants are unhappy with that arrangement. It is pretty sad when even "drought tolerant" plants are pouting. Sigh.
On the bright side, here is a new beauty that greeted me this morning--'Tiger Babies'. It is very short in its first year, only 15 inches tall, with only two buds per stem. But I expect great things from it next year!
Next up is trumpet lily 'Golden Splendor'. It is extremely tall (nearly 6 feet) and lanky in its first season. I have had to stake many of these even before the buds began to weigh them down. Not sure what the problem is since they are growing in full sun. Too much nutrients perhaps?
