Thank you so much Stephanie. I counted 38 scapes with buds in this
years' seedling beds. I believe some will open for the first time tomorrow, or
on Monday. Will post more pics when they bloom, if they are photographable.

Stephanie, there are over 2000 planted this year. I didn't expect to see
any of them bloom until next spring. So, these are an early surprise.

Over 200 planted last year, which are most of the seedlings
photographed this year, blooming on schedule, but many dogs
in the crop. Many couldn't bloom correctly due to weather, so will
wait until next year to evaluate them.

Also, there are 500 plus in the old seedling beds. Most of these
will be composted. Only a few made the grade for further evaluation.

Next year will be a very busy year for evaluation.

Shirlee, I have thoroughly enjoyed your photos and especially your seedlings. They helpd get me out of my daylily funk. It has been such a bad year for daylilies and seed setting. By the way, I am able to find the big bales of Pro Mix BX at our local farmer's co-op. it is SOooo much better than the MG potting mix that is sold here.

Thumbs up It looks good from here and sounds like you are really organized too. That is a hard thing to do with so many.

Ann, many thanks for that. I looked at Lowes, and they had nothing except
a very small expensive bag of Miracle Gro Seed Starter Mix. I'm going to
need something soon. Will check the farmer's co-op here.

Stephanie, I do keep a lot of paperwork, but don't feel organized. Will
try to work on that this winter.

Ann, I have been in a daylily funk as well. Such a bad season
for these plants. I was just about ready to call it quits, and then
a flower blooms that I like, and hope springs eternal. Green Grin!

I have a bunch of photos lined up, and will post a few
at a time, as I get them labeled. They are the good, bad,
and not too ugly. Grumbling
Actually, I really feel for these plants that are having
such a hard time this year. Guess they are doing the
best they can.

Still waiting on blooms to open that are scheduled for
next year's season. Some should open tomorrow.

Thanks Ann. That first red seedling has had so many blooms, and is
covered with pods, not just mine, but some bee pods too. Also a fast
increaser. I hope it does well next year, as I have plans for it and the
white one. The nearest white I have is Victorian Lace, and I am
trying to get some to mix with a newer one, if I can decide which
one is the best white to buy.

they are on their last blooms, unless the rain brings up more scapes.
Anxious to see the seedlings that bloom tomorrow from this
year's plantings.
