Keep posting away, Ginny! Please remember that I practically took over the June Blooms thread for almost the whole month, and you actually encouraged me to keep posting -- so I expect the same from you Hilarious! -- and all of you guys -- for July! I have almost no blooms left now... But I do see a couple out there so I'm sure I'll be posting one or two later myself.

Edit - Love that COOL TWISTER, Stan!

July has opened with a bang of spectacular blooms here. These were the ones that caught my eye:

Dana - Orchid Moonchild - I like the look of the flower as well as its name!

Jill - Alpha and Omega, your group shots of UFs, and the snuggling pic of Banana Smoothie and Purple Tarantula Lovey dubby

Susan - Cruise Control

Ginny - You have so many great ones: Blue Alert, Tricolor, Royal Extravaganza, Shark Infested Waters, Land of the Sky, Ocean Rainbow, ... Hurray!

Mantis - When You Get to Ashville and Deep Waters look especially good to me.

Well the good ole ditch lily has finally gotten things started with my first daylily blooms of the year!
Thumb of 2019-07-04/Dennis616/832bfd

A cold and nearly sunless spring has delayed blooms significantly, and has reduced scape branching as well. Most are 1 or 2-way, with a smattering of more. Oddly enough many of my 2nd year seedlings, about to bloom for the first time, have high branch counts. Maybe small plants don't need as much spring sun…

But all the daylilies, early, mid and late-blooming, have lots of scapes so it seems that a bloom explosion is imminent! Seems like the wait has been so long!

The bloom threads have been simply amazing so far. It's been a very slow start to the season and I've been sidetracked with several major issues. So far two newbies had their FFO's and one oldie but goodie.

Yesterday Explosion in the Paint Factory started the season. Finally ordered it from Rich this past winter. Have to say I do find the variegated blooms odd, but I couldn't stop walking by all day to check it out. Definitely different!

I found When Royals Dream on the LA over the winter for a good price. There's no way to know which evergreens from the south will do well up here so I like to wait for the price to come down before trying them. Very impressed with the color, edge and early opening, it was open at 6 this morning. Photo a bit later after coffee.

Itsy Bitsy Spider has been here a number of years and had two FFO blooms yesterday. Only once since 2007 has IBS opened later than 6/28 or 6/29.

My first bloom was today as well. Cold and fairly wet weather as well. Scape explosions here, blooms soon!
