My hope is that we forum members will be able to share our love of roses and all of their companion plants, enjoying each other's gardening tips and advice without any rude comments whatsoever.

Yippeee! I missed you too, Angie. The other site was veering toward vitriolic comments and I couldn't take it anymore. This seems like the ideal new home.

Hiya!!! What a fabulous idea to get another rose community started! Thanks for inviting me, Zuzu. You're tops!

I started a Clematis Cubit and will start posting content in the next day or so.

I have suffered from serious rose deprivation since you left. It just wasn't the same without your rose parades!

Evey, Sharon, and JD with a new name, welcome!

Yes, we'll all have wonderful walks and parades again. Sue's gone this weekend, but she should be coming along soon too.

I mentioned companion plants in the initial welcoming paragraph, so post photos of anything that's blooming, or purring, or barking, or just any inanimate object sitting there and doing nothing. It doesn't have to be a rose.

LOL! I have lots of things sitting here doing nothing at the moment, husband included. (snicker!) Ah, the temptation!

You were wondering how to change the title of the thread... I've been playing around with my dashboard for the Clematis cubit and think I've got it figured out.

To change the forum nickname: Click on "Manage this Cubit" and then on "Manage" to the far right of where it says "Discussion Forums" (or whatever you called your chat area). Then, click on "Edit" to the far right of the Welcome Forum section. Change the words in bold to whatever you want to change the nickname of this forum.

To change the name of a particular thread: Go to the thread when you are signed in. Click on "Manage" at the very top, to the right of the title of your thread. You will then get a screen that lets you change the Subject (title) or move the thread to a different section of the Cubit.

I haven't figured out how to anchor a thread at the top of a Cubit. I'd like to make stickies of the Welcome thread and the Beginners section in the Clematis Cubit. If anybody figures out how to do this, please let me know! =)

I think JD (or Calsurf, pardon me) meant that Victor should be here for troubleshooting. Either that or it's some joke abstruse enough to fly right over my head.

Great to see you here, Sue! Let's think of some more cubits to create.

I also have to think of some other forum names for this rose cubit. Any requests? We can't just keep posting in the welcome forum forever.

So far, I'm thinking of separate areas for general discussion, growing tips and techniques, rose nursery reviews, our housepets, our interests aside from roses, rose parade threads, favorite and not-so-favorite roses....

Welcome, Sue. So good to see you here, too! This site already feels like home again. Where are Dovey and Nery and Kassia?

Zu, do you want to have a separate thread for English roses? And in the growing tips and techniques, please include propagation from cuttings, maybe a rating thread for various cultivars we've tried and had success or failure with? Or am I making this way too hard? I was just thinking ahead to future purchases and how much easier it would be to read reviews like that than having to read an entire thread on roses in general.

I'll just shut up now.

No, Angie, that's very helpful. Please continue to be specific. I'm just finishing up my work for the night and will go catch a few hours of sleep when I'm through, but when I wake up, I'll start creating forums.

I sent Nery an invitation yesterday. I hope she'll join us soon.
