I know what you mean Teresa. I nearly froze to death this morning when I went out of the deck to pot up some new sedum. Thank heavens they are hardy succulents.

Come on SPRING!

Just some photo updates of this succulent ball planter I made last October. After the early onset of rains, and the up and down fast dipping temps..here it is now...seems to have adjusted well, showing tinges of red on some and the others just filling up well Big Grin

Sorry folks I know it is very rude of me not to answer but without my doing much this thread some how managed to get un watched. I found out when I read Lynns post on Site Forum.'As this seems to be the first of the lot I have to answer Shrug! it looks as if I will take some time catching up.
Tarev, that is one cute idea, it opens up new options I tip my hat to you. . Chicken netting, easy to work with, lets see what other shapes people can think of as I progress further in reading this thread. Will take some time though as this think vanished from my watch list on home page a long time back Confused . Lay it at the feet of Gremlins of the electronic world.
Regards,
Arif.

Lynn, the funny thing was that the forum was showing on my home page but the red YES was not clicking over. Like the Gardening Forum which naturally is dead at this time of the year, I thought that maybe this was also dead. Gardening Forum I am keeping alive some how but this one Blinking Shrug! . Water under the bridge Smiling .
Maybe some more quotes will pop up. I have to savor it while I read and for that, time.

Arif.

webesemps said:Teresa, here's a few frames but planted only with sempervivums. Photo is of them in Fall. They look slightly different now as some semps have gotten too wet and rotted but I hope they bounce back in the spring with better weather and a few planting of replacement semps. Whistling

Bev how did a vertical hanging frame get wet? If they are outside is it not possible to put something like a shower curtain type window curtain(plastic) to protect them? Maybe on a rail and just slide it in front at night. Should look good to.

Arif.

jo Ann It is! I have a sister who lives in Syracuse, and I'm from Detroit, so I know what winter is really like Big Grin
If you ever get the chance to visit Seattle or Portland in April/May - you won't be disappointed! Its just amazing, I've been here almost 30 years and still it stuns me (in a good way!) The bulbs, and Rhododendrons, and flowering trees and the green from ferns and bushes, it is just stunning!
Cheers

The two of you describe the same sort of weather that we have. Spring is in full stride by March, April. Now lets see if summer temps match Blinking . Not possible or is it, with climate change do you all also get plus 40C in summers?
Regards,
Arif.

It sounds like your summer temps are much higher than mine. Normally in the 80's (27C+), a few days in the 90's (33C +) and may one or two days 100 (38C).
The beginning of our spring is rather cool and wet.

Our spring is also rather cool and wet. Require some protection at night. Our summer starts somewhere in end April and rather abruptly as if some one has thrown a switch. Then we swelter(45c, peak 47c early 90's) till July then Monsoons reach us. Monsoons temperatures are in the mid to high 30's but humidity reaches 100% which makes it very muggy and unpleasant. I rather prefer 45c with 17% humidity but plants go bonkers in the Monsoons. Which makes up for the muggy and unpleasant but while it is raining, pure heavenly bliss.
Regards,
Arif.
