I agree with Bree in that I think it is the local weather conditions that dictate which orchids do well for you. There are few paphs grown here and almost no phrags. That is why I love to see the posts of these orchids. Between the local weather and the OC, I have a micro climate that I have to adhere to and so I will.

Love that purple one, Ive. I, too visited a 'Butterfly World' which was a nice orchid greenhouse and garden up in Coombs, BC - in the wilds of Vancouver Island would you believe, there were orchids, a huge kiwi fruit vine with tons of fruit on it, plus tropical plants and butterflies! Ya just never know What you're going to see where. They do have great weather for Paphs, though. Didn't see any tags on these so no names . . .
This beautiful blue butterfly was at least 7in across, and the white one the same size. No less than three Zebra Longwings on the budlleia, I flutter around my garden every day trying to get ONE to stand still enough for a photo.
This lizard with fabulous protective coloring was my favorite though.

Oh swoooon Jim...Blc. Frank Fordyce 'Waiakea Uka' is making my heart flutter, love those colors!
Elaine, that lizard looks right out of a pixar movie, very cool!
The middle of my 3 spikes on Psychopis opened a new flower yesterday.
Great photos, all!
I'm a beginner and haven't gotten any flowering yet.
I only have 2.
Both phalenopsis.
One from Chef Mike's recent sale and one of several my friend purchased at this spring's orchid society show here.
I traded her a display thing she could use for her orchids and she gave me smallest one.
