Thanks, guys. I have lots of spikes coming but it has been a slow couple of weeks.

You are spoiled, Jim! If 20 flowers aren't in bloom, you think it's slow! Hilarious!
Love the thick ruffles on Blc Golden Tang.

Prra Motes Leprechaun 'Haiku Mint' opens another spike. The blooms are beautifully scented.

You can show these anytime, Ursula. I love them. Very nice color on the Vanda and on Asctm christensonianum. I think my favorite is Prra Motes Leprechaun 'Haiku Mint' . It may go on the must have list.

Bree, your slippers are splinded, as always. Here are a couple of pictures of the Ctna Maui Maid X Mcp Brysiana plant. The spikes go up like a Schomburgkia.

That's wild Jim, how long those spikes are...do you have to use a step ladder to take photos?
Bree, I read somewhere that Paphs don't generally bloom every year..is that your experience ?
It seems that you always have a handful in bloom!

The Ctna hangs in the OC and the spikes go all the way to the roof. In order to take pictures, I have to take it down.

Lindsey- i have alot of smaller paph plants that probably wouldnt be old enough to bloom yet (or maybe i can't get them to bloom) but i have a few larger paph plants that bloom on time every year with multi flowers at the one time as the plants have multi growths. These are the 'easier' cooler growing ones like Insigne, Villosum, and Leeanum. They seem to look there worst in summer with the heat and high humidity here, im getting a solar fan hopefully for this summer and see how they go then.

In my hands Phrags are a lot easier to bloom than Paphs. If I am lucky one of my Paphs blooms once in a blue moon!
Bree, you are doing a good job!

I guess they are just a lot slower growing than the Cats. I'm happy that my small Paph collection is
growing and I get the random bloom. Ursula, I had seen a video somewhere about Phrags, they were
growing on a rock waterfall and I guess I assumed that they were quite specific about their culture, water , PH etc.
but maybe I will try one just for kicks. In the meantime I will sit back and enjoy the show that Bree provides!

I think its really about your conditions, temps, humidity all year as to whether there easy or not for certain growers because funny you say phrags are easier Ursula because i had some and they never bloomed so i evetually re sold them and got more paphs. My paphs love Autum/winter here and bloom then(it doesnt get very cold here) but they look abit spotty in the summer heat/humidity.
Thumb of 2012-08-17/bree/023def
I have a few with buds but they do seem to take ages to grow and open Rolling my eyes.
