Anthony, they don't look like their daddy at all, do they?

Patricks Bellingham Star pollen , 9/17, crossed with one of my worthy henryi hybrids..
This has a lot of potential. I tried a cross this year using this one as pod parent:
and pollen from anything I could find with a hint of paler tepal centres. You're right, Rick, I think it is unusual to have the paler colour (yellow tones) central and orange to the edges. I'd encourage Anthony to make the most of that seedling showing the trait so strongly. Aurelians are so exciting!
The OT does have red-backed buds. I really like it. This is the same flower taken a day earlier, the green is stronger:
I'm glad you like the pics, Rick. I keep working on the photography, it's nice to know that it's showing results. Thank you.
Nice choice, Joshua. First flower, so I don't know how the plant will grow out, but the bloom has good substance and stood up to today's awful hot winds much better than most.
And now, just for something dramatically different, 'Shiraz', a Neil Jordan oriental. It's the only oriental bloom I'll see this year... except for less than a handful of speciosum buds, wildlife have eaten all my Div. 7.
edited: because I meant Div. 7. Duh.
