Fancy Sparkler opened too, this bloom is a bit miss shaped, but there will be more to come.

I have more open, but pretty frost damaged, so have to wait for later buds to open, and hope they are better, but with temps supposedly in the 20's on Fri night, who knows.

It's not unusual to get frost here through the middle of May.

I guess there's a polar vortex affecting the weather now.

Our forecast for Friday night is down to 26 or 28. That will surely damage blooms
if it gets down that low. I'm hoping they are wrong! Sad

Tom, Leslie and Leon ~ So sorry about the weather! It's been crazy the past few years, getting weirder by the minute! Blinking Sticking tongue out

In February, we had spring, then snow in March...not just a dusting, either! Some of the irises balked at such anomalies!

I wish there was something we could do about that...but what? Confused

Great bunch of little beauties Tom! Thank You! for sharing.

I hope the weather will not damage your blooms too much. Crossing Fingers! They predict snow and hail here, which is bound to damage the few SDBs I have in bloom. Thumbs down

Thanks for the nice comments Lilli, I sure hope you don't get any hail, snow they can deal with, but hail can rip them up pretty bad. Been through that scenario before. Sad It's 32 degrees now, might drop a bit before the sun rises. I have some irises that opened yesterday that were quite under sized, I'm guessing due to cold, others have short standards or miss shaped blooms. My cherry tree is blooming now, I hope I get some cherries, not so much for me, but the birds love them. I saw my first Baltimore Oriole for the year yesterday. I will have to go get some oranges to feed them.

Its going to get cold here tonight but nothing like you Leon and Tom. Brrrrr...... I hope they get it wrong and it stays quite a bit warmer. Tomorrow will be in the low 60's for a high with a brisk wind. At least the sun will be shining.

It's supposed to get down to 28 here tonight, but that's in town, out here it's always 5 degrees colder. It never got out of the 40's today, with a strong North wind. Too cold to dig in the garden today, but I did mow part of the lawn with the hand mower, as the belt for the rider didn't come in yet.

Tom ~ That's just way too cold for May! Grumbling

It is now 80° here! Later, next week, it is supposed to be in the 50s and raining.
