I agree. Tom, your photo has captured the brown on the edge of the falls on RN. It does OK here and I really like it. Unwritten blooms every year here. It is good at increasing too.
Love your garden pics. How long have your semps been growing in the stump? They sure look happy.
Thro' all the tumult and the strife I hear the music ringing; It finds an echo in my soul— How can I keep from singing?
I planted just two hen and chicks in the stump last spring. I dug out some of the soft rotted wood and filled it with soil. They seem to like it. I have to move some of the babies to another spot, the rabbits seemed to think they were good eating this winter, and I lost a bunch of them near the house. They didn't find the ones on the stump.

lovely, tom. adore your photos of 'robins nest' and 'unwritten'. i also enjoyed the 'lemon tart'. (free association, made me think of lemon square, now i'll have to make some.) hehe
Baby Blessed has been trying to have a bloom that wasn't frozen to bits. Last night I noticed one more open, and since it was going to freeze again last night, I went out and took a quick picture. This is a dependable bloomer and re-bloomer here. Very nice one from the king of Illinois irises garden.

It's a camera thing, Baby Blessed is really more yellow, but it was dusk when I took the picture.
A couple more opened in yesterday.
Blueberry Tart is another one from Arlyn's garden that I enjoy a lot. A good grower and reliable bloomer.

Leopard Print opened yesterday as well. As usual with this one, the first bloom doesn't have many of the spots that the later blooms have. This one is a reliable grower and bloomer.

Gingerbread Man is one of the fastest growing little guys I have, clumps up really fast and needs thinning yearly. He blooms every year. A cute one from Arlyn's garden.

I think that's because I am so old, myself, Lucy !
Nice to see things are starting to "pop" up there, Tom . I've been terribly lax with the pix, again this year . Just seems to take too much time away from other jobs. Maybe I should "weed less", and "post more"
