Yes, I knew that about lionesses. But only the lions (males) are able to take down elephants (I don't think fully matured, but not a baby either). I was so surprised, I never knew that lions could take down elephants. The reason why the lionesses do the hunting is because the lions have to stay and protect the territory, otherwise other prides would take it over.

Pigeons can do math.

You might think of pigeons as… not that smart. But it turns out, they're actually quite intelligent. In fact, one 2011 study published in the journal Science found that the birds are capable of doing math at the same level as monkeys. During the study, the pigeons were asked to compare nine images, each containing a different number of objects. The researchers found that the birds were able to rank the images in order of how many objects they contained. Put simply, they learned that the birds could count!

Amazing!

Currently (as of 2021) Buffalo are losing a pint of blood per day, due to biting flies.

Maybe they need to do this for them.

Cows painted with zebra-like stripes can avoid being bitten by flies.

Cows have to deal with pesky flies that are beyond annoying for the docile creatures. Luckily, farmers can now protect their animals by painting them with zebra-like stripes. According to a 2019 study published in PLOS One, "the numbers of biting flies on Japanese Black cows painted with black-and-white stripes were significantly lower than those on non-painted cows and cows painted only with black stripes." re pigeon math.. I watched a webinar about preschool math that said its a very good skill for kids to look at groups of "more ' and 'less' and learn that. Just interesting.

Yikes. Australia gets all the creepy (and some of the deadliest) spiders. They also get the largest spiders in the world.

Speaking of spiders, there was a spider discovered in the Amazon forest a few years back that was as big as an Airedale puppy. Disgusting! It's the biggest spider known to man.
