I'm not buying many southern daylilies because they just don't perform very well for me.

@shive1 Debra, I am curious how Mister Mayor does for you. I have had for a few years and it is rather pathetic.

Oh boy! Sad I did "shop" for her DL in the late month threads. I was sure I saw it blooming late in the same zone as mine 🤷 🤷 I've dangled the carrot already Sighing! but I think she'll understand if it changes to a different cultivar, as long as it's just as jawdropping. Smiling

Any suggestions for an extended bloomer (nearly all season Whistling ) with the same deep or, better yet, black purple color, and preferably a chartreuse throat and ruffled or tooth edges? Not too tall though.....

I'm looking at my collection first to gift to my Counselor. Smiling The only other two I have are: Halloween Effect (new this year) Black to The Future (new last year in) Obviously I haven't had them long enough to know how well they perform. Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Celeste - Princess Syndrome is gorgeous!
Jill - I just got Mister Mayor this Spring as a single fan, so I don't have a performance report on it yet. I hope it will perform as well for me as most other Davissons. The only one that hasn't done well here is Confessions of a Hemaholic, and it just may be in a bad spot.

Wow, superb blooms everybody!

Jill and Celeste, you both sure have the prettiest purple blooms! Can't wait to see more purple blooms from both of your gardens.

Life has calmed down a bit, so I went outside around noon to take some daylily pics. Not the best light for sure. D'Oh!

I know this is a lot of pics. I'm just starting to get excited about my daylilies again, after coming to the realization that a large percentage of them have rust. Glare

Beautiful blooms everyone!

Avedon, the Food Channel is very nice! I haven't seen a bad pic of this one yet.

Charley, great shot of Wiggly Piggly against the light of the sunset. It is perfect!

Ken, you have a lot of pretty lavenders! I also like Sunday Gloves very much. I am so sorry to hear that you have rust. It is inevitable if you get daylilies from a warmer zone. I tried to prevent the rust by doing as follows: First I strip all the outer leaves until only the white part is shown. Next, I cut back the foliage down to about 2-3". Place all the cut and stripped off foliage into a bag and disposed of it in the trash. Then I plant the daylilies. After the daylilies are planted and watered, I sprayed the part above ground generously with Daconil. I sprayed it again 2 more times every other day. So far I have not seen rust on my new purchases for this year yet. I did buy some from vendors who told me that they got rust in their gardens for this year. You only need to do this extreme treatment for purchases of daylilies grown in zones where winters are not cold enough to kill it.

Much truer photo of BETTY FORD. This was taken after some clouds rolled in and this is what BETTY FORD looks like to my eyes. I don't know what I did on the first version but it was not good camera craft.
