well.. into the process of removing from the roof garden... some of the plants for the winter.. and building a cool room on the roof to store others at about 40* F there.. I booked my helper to come in to do more on Monday... I hadn't seen the projected track for it then...but perhaps we should be working on it through the weekend..

we are pulling down our Halloween display.. and I am very sad.. but looks like we are going to be north of the eye.. but still going to be hammered.. my town was mostly under water with Irene.. my house is up on a large hill from the flood areas.. but we were trapped after Irene.. going to get ready to buckle down that's for sure

There is a person near here who uses inflatables for Halloween decorations. No movement taking them down so I'm afraid that they will be torn aprt.

Bought some canned food this afternoon to use if we don't lose power. At least won't spoil in the frig.

Everyone be safe. We already have tree's down. Leaving work at noon and closed tomorrow

Leaves have carpeted the back lawn so tree branches are on their own. Not much rain as yet.

My school district is closed today (long ride, so I'm very glad) and wind is just beginning to pick up. I plan on cutting down one daylily bed right now, then inside I stay. I have a generator (because of my orchids, thank goodness for my orchids) but I have a house that I own and rent in town that is on a river. It didn't get flooded for Irene but I was lucky! I did have the electric wires ripped down off the house when the telephone poll next door got pulled down. It is attached to the other side of the river which was extremely high and a tree limb snagged the wires and downed both telephone polls. So I'm more worried about that house! Nail biter.
What's happening in Jersey?

wind is blowing.. raining.. as expected.. the mailman came.. I was shocked.. went to pick up the neighbors mail and had to turn my head with the wind already.. take your breath away stuff already

Rain just started here. We got mail, too!
Be careful outside, the TV just talked about tiny debris hurting people's eyes. I am now in for the duration. Heard a tree fall in my woods but up till now it was kinda wonderful working in the breeze. So much of my gardens are not cut down yet!
