Just catching up on some threads on the ends, the leaves are variagated? I am looking for suggestions of some nice doubles. This isn't my garden pics but the colors of the one in my garden.

Does anyone grow this, a friend recommended it and said it was evergreen. There are some impressive pictures in database, I noticed the red edges on the green flowers.

Thanks! I like it, and the fact that it is evergreen. I try to add something every year to help with the dead-looking yard. Did I read that it comes true from seed? That is good to know but I hear it takes forever to grow one from seed. By the looks of Song-of-Joys picture I would have thought that it was self-sowing. Love it!...

I love to find little seedlings beneath mine to share. I try to pull back the mulch and maybe add a little compost to give the tiny seeds a good fertile place to land.

I started with just a single plant and now it looks more like a tight shrub. I need to divide it I suppose but I like that it is almost 18 inches across or more and loaded with blooms.
What does everyone else do? When do you divide them?

I cant wait for mine to get big and full of flowers!

'Berry Swirl' is another favorite. When I saw that one it went straight into my shopping cart! Does anyone know if these doubles produce doubles from seeds?
Some self so freely, but I read that they can be successfully grown from seed if they are fresh. Do your homework because some are sterile. I like the steril ones the best because they bloom better, since the plant does not waste energy producing seed. I have a sterile Hibiscus and the flowers are spectacular.
