I live in Mukwonago (zone 5a), similar to your 5b. I look for certain things when I search the online sites for dls.
I want hardy( dormant) extended bloomers (reblooming) which start early in the season (E, EM, EL) or midseason (EM, M, ML). Go to Garden.org, the AHS database and look to see if any awards have been granted. One of my favorite (though oftentimes overlooked) daylillies is When My Sweetheart Returns. The reblooming is so continuous it appears to be blooming from May straight through to September.

Another fabulous daylily is Karol Emmerich's Shout from the Mountaintop

I have a new bed and I am looking for a few doubles to go into it. Wanting to trade for them if possible.
I will probably be adding to this list as I do further research. Recommendations would be welcome. I would love to have plants with some special traits that make them stand out in the garden. I have a lot of preferences I would prefer the plants to have, but I have found very few that met those standards so I am open for good suggestions. Mainly want them to have good plant habit and be great garden plants that put on a show of blooms every year.
After a quick search I pulled up these two that appealed to me.
1. Puccini (the name put me off a bit) but it was a Double, tall, a Tet., Evergreen, reblooms, with 48 buds and 6-way branching.
2. Pumpkin Giant:100 % double, 38x7, Tet. Evg. reblooms, 35 buds and 6-way brancing.
So if anyone looks over my list here on the site and has some doubles they think are outstanding in the garden and wants to trade tmail me. Thanks.

I received a Floyd Cove Catalog also. I love pictures on the computer but still love a paper catalog. I like to thumb through mine while I sit in my bird room and watch to see if my canaries are mating and building nests. I need to look and see if Schriener's is open yet as I want some Maryotts this next spring also.

I ordered some from Floyd Cove for spring delivery, 2 minis for the new bed and a few other plants for a new row I created down in the bog. I have one more Mini on order from a local grower for the new bed. Floyd Cove has so many nice plants.

Amador Flower Farm has Puccini fo $7.00. I was satisfied with my order. A double fan with healthy roots.

I have ordered from Amador before and was pleased with all the plants I got form them. That is a great price, and I have not thought about them in a while. Now to find some more they have to reduce the shipping charge per plant. Too bad they are so far west.

Madame Butterfly, La Boheme, Tosca, so many amazing Operas... actually, my favorite Opera composer, both to play and to listen to. Puccini is amazing.

Maybe but the name reminds me too much of daylily rust: Puccinia hemerocallidis
It could be a sad opera being sung in my garden if Mr. Puccinia makes an appearance instead of Mr. Puccini.
