I assume it is Latin.
"Although the pathogen was initially thought to be Puccinia hemerocallidis Thuem., some inconsistencies in spore morphology with the original literature description were uncovered, namely the predominance of one-celled teliospores (mesospores) and thin urediospore walls. While the taxonomic significance of these features was being further evaluated, plant pathologists agreed to assign a provisional name of
Puccinia sp. to the pathogen until comparisons were made between specimens of daylily rust from locations in the
southeastern US and voucher specimens of other rusts on plants in the Liliaceae. That comparison has been completed,
and the consensus is that P. hemerocallidis is the proper name for the rust pathogen recently discovered in the Southeast
US. "

Hope this is the right thread for this:

I am looking for 'Lucas' Light' which I found in our database when searching for a plant incorporating the name Luca. An old friend lost their son last December and have not had an opportunity to have a proper memorial/funeral due to the pandemic. I thought I'd send her a remembrance plant. He was young (mid 40s) and living at home (Down Syndrome). I rarely order plants online but would be willing to in this case. Finding a vendor is proving more difficult that I anticipated. Is there a list of daylily vendors somewhere in this forum? Or do any of you daylily afficianados have this particular cultivar? Thanks for any help.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Deb( Bonehead), if you look at the front of the Daylilies Forum page, there is a list of other links on the right hand side. If you go into Charlotte's Daylily Diary, there is an extensive list of websites of people who sell daylilies. You can comb through there, most sites have the plants listed alphabetically. Good luck!🍀

Deb (Bonehead), I spent some time looking around for Luca's Light. I didn't find any vendors that sell it, but I have some clues that I found here that may ring a bell with someone who can help. Unfortunately not everyone registering daylilies is a seller or makes them widely available.

In this case, the hybridizer is listed as Fretz and it looks like the last year she registered a daylily was 2017, which isn't that long ago. I believe this is Betty Fretz, who I think was associated with a garden center named "Floral and Hardy" out of Ontario, Canada. Unfortunately Betty list listed as deceased in the Ontario Daylily Society site.

I'm bringing up these clues in case someone knew Betty from a garden club or association. Maybe someone may know if Floral and Hardy was taken over by someone, or if Betty's daylilies are still being sold and if so, are they available in your section of "planet earth". It's kind of hard to get plants across borders these days.

I knew Betty back in the "old days".....fun gal. We overloaded an elevator one time and got stuck between floors headed to one of John Peat's parties...fortunately, Betty had brought the party platter which she was holding above her head to squeeze in one more person so we didn't starve. I have about 10 stuck-in-the-elevator stories as that happened a lot at AHS functions.

People that might help would be Carol and Anthony Haj
lasting dreams daylilies.com or [email protected]. They are also on FaceBook. They live in New York near the Canadian border and specialize in importing Canadian cultivars and exporting US cultivars to Canada.

I have been goofing around looking at daylilies all day. One thing led me to another, and I was eventually directed to
Michael Miller's Small World website. I haven't ever bought from them, and didn't realize they had so many releases
that are still available! I was astounded. Of course, the ones I wanted most were either very expensive, or were not
available (of course). Until just the last few weeks I was never interested in the small flowers, but they had one called
Small World Mable Cade that I absolutely fell for- and it's not available! Grumbling LOL! It's on my list now! Thumbs up
