Gary-
Where did you find Dr Strangelove? It is on my ever-growing wish list.

Top of the list is probably Dan White's spring 2021 intro Mr Cris Tate, which he offered a little while back on Lily Auction with a starting bid of $250. I have no idea what his few single fans finally went for, but it is one gorgeous daylily. No I didn't bid on it.

Also hunting for (northern) sources for Mayor of Munchkinland, Scarlet Pimpernel and several historic ones.

Gary, check out the Charlotte's Daylily Diary website for links to hybridizers and sellers to keep you dreaming!

@robinjoy Wendy, check out the Walkabout Gardens of Nan Ripley. She is the hybridizer of Scarlet Pimpernel and lives in Iowa, which should be northern enough for you. The daylily is listed in the 2004-2008 cultivars, but could be sold out by now since it won the Stout Medal.

I got my Scarlet Pimpernel directly from Nan. I got my Mayor of Munchkinland off the LA.

I received my New Daylily Journal the other day, I thought it was the best issue in a while. Maybe it was because I am studying to become a garden judge, and all those awards won by Hybridizers and photos of their wonderful plants really helped be find that section interesting.
I have been looking for some new Miniature plants to go in my new judge's bed, and 'Grandpa's Little Sweetheart' was exactly the type of plant I have been looking for. Now, just hoping after it has won the Donn Fischer Memorial award it will not be too expensive or too hard to find available.
Looking at some of those plants that won awards made me realize even more how long it takes sometimes for a plant to move up along the line of awards!
So I am adding 'Grandpa's Little Sweetheart' to my want list for spring.

@Seedfork : Both Grandma's Little Sweetheart and Grandpa's Little Sweetheart are excellent miniatures. I have seen them growing at two GA gardens , both of whom sell: Mark and Patty Franklin (MP Flowers) and David and Doris Bishop ( Shady Rest Gardens) have them. There is high demand so I'm not sure how much stock they have, but try there first! I saw them in these gardens and came home and ordered them.

I was able to order Grandpa's Little Sweetheart from MP Flowers, and I added Micro Dots along with it.

Tim has some wonderful miniatures! I would love to find Grandpa's Little Sweetheart and Mayor of Munchkinland from someone in the north (I usually wait to order from the south until fall to avoid possible rust introduction). I saw MoM blooming at our regional a couple years ago, so I know it does well here, but have yet to find anyone selling it up this way. (I think they got it on Lily Auction).

Larry, Nancy Falck enjoys breeding miniatures, and I know they have a nice collection, although not offering all of them for sale. It would be a great place for you to see them in a garden setting (road trip?)

Tee Money is in Dothan, AL. She has a big collection of minis, and had some good seedlings, but I don't think she ever registered them.

Too old for many more but I dearly want Isabelle Rose and would like Dances with Zombies as well. Sigh. Probably never happen.

If (when) I add more minis I'll have to expand the border of that garden - again!! Green Grin!

I have tried in vain for the longest time to get "Cliffjumper". Even the original hybridizer (Gossard) does not have any to sell [he is using his very limited stock to try and make a tet from this dip]. Cliffjumper is like an itch I cannot scratch. It is driving me mad. I found it for sale on Grandkids Daylilies, but there is something odd about the website, and my order vanished into the mist I think (thankfully I emailed them before sending any payment, but have never got a response - perhaps they are Covid victims, who knows in these uncertain times. Just as well I sent no payment upfront - a stark warning for those that pay using checks or money orders your money will never make it back to you in such situations). If any of you come across a seller of Cliffjumper please do let me know. My list of "wanted" on the daylily auction site also does also seem to grow exponentially. One thing I cannot seem to get my hands on is "Golden Zebra" despite it being commercially available in some locations (not here, sadly). I would like to make some striped-foliage daylilies and Golden Zebra seems nicer than "Secured Borders". I am also eyeing up "Wine Country" (Pierce, 2021 intro). But his website ( floydcovenursery.com ) has but a single photo of that stunning gem. And I would have to be batpoop crazy to pay a king's ransom based on a single photo.

Plasko20 I haven't seen your wish list but as to buying a new intro from Guy Pierce it's a pretty safe bet Grin

I ordered Wine Country. I spoke to Karen Pierce about it. She is awesome. It's a winner. Just contact them and ask for photos or whatever information you need.

plasko20-

Grand Kids Daylilies is the site for Charles Plaisance, a wonderful hybridizer who passed away last April, a loss to the daylily community. A friend of his appears to be handling the firm.
