I'm all in for comfort plants. There are a lot of folks who may not "get it", but most of the time I know their hobbies that cost money as well. Pretty easy to say, what did you spend on that bottle of wine (that is now gone) or that car in your garage that you drive four times a year? Then I say $65 is quite the deal. It blooms several weeks each year and makes each and every day a blissfully happy one.

It's all about inner peace and appreciation. I'm all in for comfort plants.

I am going to have to start referring to Pastelegance as my " Emotional Support Plant" Whistling

You are right, Tracey. One of my friends complains that her hubby is always buying electronic gadgets. I always say, at least he isn't buying a Bass boat!! And BTW, she loves her Roomba, and never has to fix the TV or computer. 😂

Haha, plants are my emotional support system for years. It keeps me off any meds. Funny, my brother's wife told me, the tree I gave him was the most expensive plant they ever paid. I gave him a Long An tree that cost me $150 for his 60th birth day. Since then I gave him 2 more Long An trees that cost $200 or more. The last 2 trees produce fruit with big seeds, I bought them on impulse, I already have 2, I need room to grow other fruit trees.

I absolutely love it! Pastelegance should be my emotional support plant! Wait, I think a rotating emotional support plant would be better..this week it could be...next week it could be.. That way there would not be so much pressure on each plant, right? 52 weeks...52 plants! Maybe a plant a day would be better...

SoCal, I think it was Saunders that said hybridizing peonies prolonged his life by years.. so comfort plants really work!!

I haven't bought any herbaceous peonies that are expensive yet. Oh wait, I do have Valkyrie.

My sentiments exactly, Tracey! LG, your brother's response to Morning Lilac is pretty much the same response that I get from my family. I agree with everyone about Pastelegance! It is my goto "comfort plant", "emotional support plant", "joy plant", "best purchase plant ever", and any names that fit in this category of plants. Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! It's a truly exquisite plant. Love its color so much! Can't wait to see its beautiful face again this coming spring.

That is a beauty, I have to wait one more year before I want to buy it. Not sure if it will survive well here.

Well I googled Longan trees, and now I want to taste the fruit!! Is it really delicious SoCal? Do you eat it raw or do you cook it up?

Karen, I'm glad you feel the same way about Pastelegance. It really is unique. I have a garden bench near the bed it is in, and I would take my lunch outside and just look at it.

This was taken April 30.

LG, It's very sweet and juicy, no need for cooking, I eat them off the tree, my husband never even saw any. No pests at all unlike other fruit in my garden. It can be a huge tree. My brother has 1 acre so he can take them even just for shade alone.

SoCal, sounds yummy, and so glad that there are no pests.

Mountain Flower Farms will open their website January 1. They have a great price on Lemon Chiffon. All peony roots have free shipping. You can preview them now.

I doubt anyone would need to know this, but I am certain I did not see this on Adelman's website before on their sale. 'Pastelegance' is quite a deal!

I'm thinking of moving my Yumi Itoh next year, I think it will need to be divided, maybe I can plant Pastel Elegance there.

Coral Charm smells like halitosis but you have to stick your nose down in it to smell, not strong at all. I wouldn't avoid this plant because of scent because it's gorgeous and you'll never notice the smell unless you actively seek it out.

Oops, my Coral Charm is the one that has bud, not Red Charm. I'm getting confused of all these charms.

Is there a pleasant smelling coral? I mainly want one for the fading.

I don't remember any corals that have a distinctly strong smell at all. The last couple of seasons have been more of a blur for me, not sure if I'd have noticed!
