I was rhinking of getting Coral Charm too. Ive heard that some of the corals smell odd. Is that the case with CC?

I bought only Coral n' Gold form Mountain Flower only. It was super cheap ($10) and free shipping. I got a tiny root and the plant is still very small. I have not noticed any bad smell from any corals.

No more super cheap peony roots from me. 2020 was a newbie year for me. Now I only buy from reputable sources.

Comfort plant extraordinaire! FYI

I might buy this from them next year if there's another sale. Good deal.

Hiyamakki, when my Coral Sunset blooms, it is cold enough out that I don't smell much even though it is supposed to have nice, but light scent. It does have lovely fading. Will you be going outside/staying outside much when the peonies are blooming?

I need to have enough warmth in the air to smell things or be right in it...I could have gotten a camellia with scent that blooms this time of year, but I remembered I can't smell it, so got the prettier one.

I think that I will bring in the scented peonies in the spring. Wait...do peonies actually fade in a vase or just on the bush?

I got 2 Lemon Chiffons and one Henry Bockstoce from MFF.
The HB bloomed this Spring and was amazing! None of my LC have ever bloomed the full double, so I think it must be my climate. LC comes up bud first and very early here. we have these late frosts and freezes and I think it affects the bud development.

I go out pretty much every single day unless it's raining. I have two kids to exhaust!

I think I'll pass on Mountain Spring. The prices at Fina are pretty much the same and they have a much larger selection. If I'm paying shipping anyway....

There are so many I wish I'd bought from Song Sparrow! I'd have easily bought 10 instead of 4. Honestly I kept myself in check because I'd already bought so many plants this year.

I think I'll likely go with Coral Charm. I like the cupped semi double look best.

Liz, that was what I thought..only fades on the plants. If it only fades on the plants and doesn't smell nice all the more reason to leave it outside!

Hiyamakki...even going outside everyday, I find that it has to be warm enough for my nose to smell well. I have a crazy rose that is still blooming, but it is so cold out (36f) that I can't smell it even if I stick my nose way down in it....my nose nerves must be frozen. (Of course, your place may warm up more during the day, we don't so 36f is the high today from about 10am to 3pm.)

Thank You Mieko and Tracey for the posts concerning LC @ MFF and the possibility Adelman's might have Pastel Elegance on sale in future!

Luckily I was able to get LC from Adelman's this year!!
Now to get it planted, once it arrives, before everything hard freezes.

I never used to be able to even think about ordering from this sale on Thanksgiving. The last few years have been slow to have the ground freeze and this year with Klehms going out, I did order a couple very late, like the final days. Nostalgia wins every time for me.

David, I'm so glad that you were able to get LC!

The climate change has affected us all in our gardens. My camellia is still blooming, and I am happy about that.
I'm glad you were able to order peonies late and still get them planted, Tracey.

I just finally saw a video of Klehms and tree peonies, they have huge flower even on one gallon container. I can't wait for next year, but I seem to like herbaceous peonies best.

Good luck, David. Sometimes if I am worried about frozen ground, I will dig out soil from the place I plan to plant, and stored inside garage to keep from freezing. Then I plant peony once it arrives and cover with warmish soil I have saved out. Then water in with inside room temp water. Has worked out well in the past. And congratulations on LC, you're gonna love it.

Tracy...it never occurred to me to save warmish soil...we get freezing then, just above on a regular basis, but it is usually raining above freezing...I think putting soil in the garage may do the trick so that I can plant before the rains. Thanks so much!

1 last Itoh to plant, but I won't need warm soil as it much as picking a time that it isn't going to rain on me..I was listening to a guy in Ireland and he said the same thing wet=warm or dry=cold, we don't get dry and warmish until summer.

Okay..first order for 2021 from the tree nursery: a suffruticosa peony, a Paeonia Delavayi and a Paeonia lutea ludlowii we will see how they look and do...I keep trying to remember it is okay to get few experiments along with ones from the "wish" list.

LG, It would be fun if they bloomed this year! I hope I get to talk with Hort. specialist and find out more about the peonies, how they started carrying them...but they have been super busy. There is even a local, spring/summer only nursery that carries species peonies and seeds, that I found out about after they closed for the season, they are on my list to visit when they open.

Have you seen the sneak peek of new Swenson peonies on Facebook? The glimpse of Wonderous Portrait is intriguing.

I think Wonderous White is my fav of the new ones. I'm waiting, though....
