So far none of my pink and blue porterweeds that froze are showing growth. I do have some pink porterweed cuttings all the way back from december that finally rooted. Ace has a sale of ten bucks through the end of the month for large miraclegro potting soil if you are a member.

We are at the end of the Summer here, in the southest country of South America.

Ceci, those are beautiful butterfly shots. I did see a Gulf fritillary laying eggs on my passion vine the other day.

@Miamiu Eric, glad your porterweed is coming back, I have the salmon colored and cut it to the ground, was too tall and lanky, so mother nature did you a favor of trimming it.

Today so far sulfurs, giant swallow tails passing through and zebra swallow tails.

Geez, and I haven't even seen a bee yet! That really disturbs me because it's been warm enough long enough for them to have gotten out by now. My Rosemary is in full bloom and no bees. The spring beauties have started to bloom and no bees there, either. We've probably had large hive die offs this year due to the extreme cold.

I hope the bees didn't freeze but I guess they can. I don't know

I saw a huge huge yellow and black striped wasp flying around yesterday in my garden, I've never seen such a large one, a loner mostly checking out things made of wood.

Yes, they can freeze in sun zero conditions. Normally winter die off is usually 20% of the hive; this year it might go as high as 60% in some places.

I just ordered one. Almost eden has a red version of the coral porterweed up for sale.

Signs of spring. The Golden Groundsel survived the brutal Texas freeze much to the delight of the Olive Hairstreak butterflies.

What beautiful pics! That's a really pretty little butterfly. I've not seen that one here.
