Thanks guys!
Ken, I got the Crispen Rosales from Kawomoto at either the Tamiami or Redlands show. They usually have some great plants at wonderful prices. I don't know how I ended up with a couple of the Burdekin Wonder plants, but the lady that bought it in bloom/bud was very happy to get it!
This Pink Heaven plant is a cute windowsill size plant, but the flowers are quite large and this has been in bloom already 3 weeks!

Thanks, Carol. Lindsey, my Crispin Rosales came from Carmela Orchids years ago (prob. 7-8 but maybe even 10 yr.) and I think it was before it was even awarded. Mine was labeled Blc., not Rlc. Also, my label spelled it "Crispin" not "Crispen", so I don't know if my label was spelled correctly or not. I'm pretty certain that I don't have this variety any longer.

Crispin Rosales has been around for quite sometime. It is one of the "standards in lavender Cattleyas".

And here we have another one with only one bloom. But this one almost kicked the bucket last Summer, I was happy it was still able to put out a small growth.
Crazy Rlc Dick Smith 'Aloha Spirit'.

And here comes a cute little stinker, Liparis viridiflora, increasing in size through the years and blooming reliably every Winter. Luckily the blooms are so tiny, the "scent" is totally drowned out unless you really stick your nose into it. It is very similar to Bulbo medusae, compounds like Spermine and Spermidine come to mind.🀒

Gosh no, I am serious!
I kind of like the color combination. It is one I don't see a lot of! Is it an award winner? No.
Is it worth keeping in a collection? Maybe.
I just like it.

We need to straighten out the magenta on the lip. One side it is higher up then the other kind of leaving you with a slanted band of lip color.
The base of the left petal completely wraps around the back of the lip past the column and really hides a lot of the right petal which is odd.
Both the left and right sepals present at a different angle and that is weird too. It is like they are independent thinkers!! D'Oh! But it doesn't really bother me. I would keep it as a novelty in my collection.
The magenta splotches are neat and there is a light magenta picotee around both petals.

But so help me, I like it!!! It is kind of like eveness through genetics is all but gone!! Kind of like the genes controlling flower markings and color took a vacation!! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

But I like it!!! Lovey dubby I tip my hat to you.

The Dick Smith series is "interesting", with their colors and patterns. Perhaps a bit over the top. Whistling I have Rlc. Dick Smith 'Paradise' in bud. Here's her last blooming (before my move).

this one holds it's flowers well up over the foliage on a really strong stem, it never needs staking.

I am always happy to see my old Laelia anceps starting up in January. Usually it gives me one short spike in late Summer and then this! I water the whole plant/buds and all daily, otherwise the buds have problems opening.

@ardesia ,
Maybe daily watering is what your pretty but wonky flower will need to open properly if it blooms again. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
