Toni,

I'm so glad you added the details to Salvia splendens 'Bonfire', but I can't believe that it's hardy to zone 5a. Blinking Confused Salvia (Salvia splendens 'Bonfire')

Marilyn - What I do when I add details to plants is not take the word of just 1 source, but I usually go through 3-5 pages on Google looking at every single source I can find to get as many details. I think I got the zone for this one from the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I was kinda surprised myself as most salvias are good only through zone 7 if you're lucky .. most are zone 8.

I got it from Backyard Gardener.

But I wouldn't be offended if you want to change it to an annual.

Wonder why they start out by saying "usually treated like an annual" ? Zones 5 to 9 can be definitely classified as a perennial.

Maybe they are saying that it's an annual that can be grown as an annual in zones 5-9. Confused
