It did. I have a dark basement that stays cool all the time. I just laid them on a shelf in the basement. The bud on the white one was several inches long which made me happy because the flowers came that much faster. I started these two bulbs about three weeks ago.

Beautiful, Alice. So you didn't lose many blooms on your azaleas from the frost you were worried about?

David, the temperature here never fell below 34 so no damage was done. Looks like this will be a banner year for azaleas. We got rain in the fall and no freezing temperatures to nip the blooms!

Crawgarden, the first picture is is an azalea -- possibly Hershey red. I rooted a few and planted them somewhere on the slope. The one in the picture may have a double blood which means it isn't Hershey red. I'll check tomorrow.

Sure! Trade weed pulling for lodging!

The bad part about working is there is no time available to pull weeds! I absolutely love to pull weeds! I'll assure you that there are plenty to pull!

Actually I think it spreads underground, but by seed is a definite possibility...really don't know for sure. When I bought this place in 1996 was very excited to see it. Little did I know how invasive it would be for me!

The tornado watch area I saw on KFOR TV was mostly for Oklahoma, some spillover into southwest Kansas. We're currently not under any sort of tornado watch or warning. What's out there is at the opposite corner of the state.

Thanks for checking on us, tigerpaws. We've had wind and rain much of the day. After the dry conditions we've gone through, the sound of rain beating against the side of the house is wonderful. But I did NOT go for my evening walk.

Thank goodness you are safe David. I was watching Evan Freyberger's livestream and things seemed pretty tense. Massive dark clouds, hail, etc. If only there were some way scientists could come up with something to stop tornadoes from happening it would be wonderful. We have a hard life here in Canadian winters but I cannot imagine the hardships one would have in the event of a tornado. How does one rebuild their life when/if all is destroyed. Frightening.

I'm sending healing thoughts and thoughts of peace to Roelie. I need to send a card as well.

Can anyone explain, step by step, how to get to garden buddies? Both my phone and computer are set to go right to it without going through all the steps.

Alice, the bookmark I use to get to the National Gardening Association forums is
https://garden.org/forums/

The GardenBuddies thread is
The thread "GardenBuddies Say Hello!" in Sandbox forum

I normally don't have to use a password, but I think I have mine stored for automatic access.

And I see that the computer has converted the second address to something other than what I typed. But if you hover over the second address, you can see the text string that describes this thread.
