That's what I've read too, one shot does help a lot.
Anyway, today I'm not exercise today either, my left leg is hurting, a good hurt after yesterday vigorous exercise. This is the leg that has been atrophied about 15-16 years ago, so it's good to finally get back it's strength. However I can't do a one leg stand in the shower as easily as the right leg and that's the one with hip arthritis.
Anyway, I'm cooking up a storm here, this afternoon I have to see another dentist. Maybe after this week, I will be free of these dentists for a while.

I took Benadryl last night, and finally got a good night's sleep. I felt so much better today. Did a huge load of laundry this morning.

It was a beautiful, mostly sunny warm day. I worked in the yard, did some spring clean-up. I'm still raking fall leaves from my flower beds. Grumbling I cut some things down, yanked some weeds, put down some Preen. Neighbors saw me out and came to visit. (They've been vaccinated). So nice to see friends again!

Glad you finally had a nice day Karen!
I have those leaves too. A corner of the triangular back yard is sort of natural and the leaves and pine needles are the mulch, but chickens toss it everywhere. I leave it, to help mulch where I walk. BUt there seems to be so much of it right now.
Plant it and they will come.

We have lots of fall leaves too, it snowed before they had all fallen from the trees. Glare

We've had a stretch of LOVELY weather. Yesterday's walk was with just a sweater. Today, even the sweater might not be needed. Certainly kids (who are immune to cold) were out biking around the neighbourhood yesterday in t-shirts. We took a shorter walk as it was later in the day - just about 2.4 km but it was a slightly different route. I also did 15 minutes on the bike in the evening and spent some time on Zoom in the morning.

Supposed to have a Zoom with some friends this evening but I'm wondering if anyone is going to join us as I've had only one response to the invitation. The person who had a regular THIRD Tuesday board meeting (and for whom we changed the chat from last week to this week) messaged to say she had a board meeting and couldn't attend. Go figure. I hope enough show up to make it worthwhile as I could also do two other things by Zoom tonight. It's getting almost as busy as my regular schedule.

Spent most of Sunday afternoon on Zoom as the Canadian Viola Society held a "Viola Day". Started out with a master class by an eminent Canadian Violist and then a ceremony as he was given the CVS Lifetime Achievement Award with quite a nice video presentation. That took two hours. Then followed 9 simultaneous master classes using break-out rooms, each teacher working with 3 students for 30 minutes each.

I'm really pleased to see crocuses popping up in my garden because I lost MANY to chipmunks last summer. I have/had a whole carpet of crocuses across my front garden, many of which have been there over 40 years. But last summer I was finding maybe 10 holes daily with the remnants of crocus bulbs. I even saw the little buggers down in the holes and saw them coming and going from under my front step. I managed to get that under control with some used cat litter from my next-door neighbour. But I know there will be many fewer crocuses this year. And in my back yard veggie garden, I'm beginning to see rows of plastic knives that are in small pots of hostas "planted" there for winter.

Oh, a confession. Someone on my local "Buy-Nothing" group on FB offered up 3 stacks of pots. I posted that if nobody else needed them that I'd take them but that my DH thought I had way too many pots. Well another person in the same situation was the only other person who showed interest. We split them. They are still in the trunk of my car until I can figure out a way to spirit them into where I keep pots w/o DH noticing!

Hilarious!

After working in the yard for just a short while yesterday, my left leg and back were too painful to do anything out there today. But I did 45 minutes on my recumbent stepper.

I hope you will feel better soon Karen.
I had 45 minutes of swimming, today the pain on my left leg was gone, so I practiced parting water with my fingers, some fingers were painful, I think eventually they will get better. Today I was able to stand on one leg, my left leg, for a few seconds more than yesterday.
Anyway, no swimming tomorrow, my husband and I will go birding. It's time to get out of the house and have fun.

"Never too many pots" I agree. Smiling
I'm always tempted to save cups that I might use too..

Hope everyone feels better soon.

We took a neighborhood walk which gave me 3600 steps. Lots of spring peepers in the woods and daffodils in the yards. I don't remember enjoying last spring- it seems a blur though I was happy doing lots in the vegetable garden, and yard fixup.
Plant it and they will come.

I get to officially join the hunt for a vax appointment- region has opened to my age group.
Happy last night to get a text from the State system asking me to reply yes or no to schedule- when I replied Y, it texted back almost right away that no appointments left. I wonder what that's about? Just 'crossing in the mail' with the systems that notify and those that schedule? Not sweating that. GLad to have something confirming they know I'm out here.
Walgreens site is all booked. CVS site does not yet know we are on age 60+. I prefer Walgreens anyway as CVS used to be my required pharmacy and they annoyed us.
My workplace is pleading to get staff into the pool of county workers, so they started offering us a portion of doses, about 25% (50) of system staff (200 or so) have gotten of been scheduled. Trust me, I do not need reminders- one of the staff here feels it is her job to update everyone all the time on all things vax... well she was a pharmacist in South Africa and her son is in residency, so I guess she's got reason to feel as a medical authority.
Time to get dressed for work.........
Plant it and they will come.

Sally, in addition to the pharmacies, you might check your local grocery stores and definitely hospital systems via my chart. Good luck. Thumbs up

For all of the problems with our provincial booking system, it still seems preferable to what you have in some places!

Heading out to a massage appointment.

I got my Moderna vaccination yesterday afternoon, they had a great system set up, in the front door of the clinic, get registered, I got a card with date and the type of vaccine I got, I was then directed down the hall where they had 6 chairs for all us old people to sit and wait our turn. Thumbs up I only had to wait about 5 minutes and I got my shot, then across the hall to a large room with 6 more very comfy chairs to sit and wait the 15 minutes. Nobody had any bad reaction while I was there, then out the side door to the parking lot. It didn't take long before my arm and shoulder and arm started to hurt, it was like that all night, it is not quite as bad this morning, feels warm. I had a restless night, my hands and feet were super hot and tingling, my body felt a little strange, hard to explain.

Margaret, Congratulations. One of my neighbours said her doctor suggested taking tylenol BEFORE the injection. You might try that before your second one.

We have a cloudy day with showers. Might do a double loop of my crescent and the adjacent one instead of a walk farther afield. Or I might spend more time on the bike. Most of the snow in my front yard is gone except where my neighbour blew it off his driveway. Half of my back yard close to the house is still covered. It was really nice to walk yesterday and not worry about whether there was ice at the bottom of every puddle.

Facilitated a Zoom call last night with a bunch of us who volunteered together at Chamberfest concerts. We had a nice chat. And I've started shoulder shaping for the back of the sweater I'm knitting.

Does anyone know how Google Meet works? Just found out this morning that is the platform that will be used when I talk to a garden club about hostas in May. I've never used it. I've got a large PP presentation that will need to be shared.

Ann, the CDC here says you should NOT take Tylenol before your vaccine. Doing so may effect how well it works. It is ok to take it after the vaccine they said.

Margaret, I hope your symptoms have eased, or will very soon.

Well, things move fast.
Today my County health dept sent me an invite to choose a day, location, 3 hour window. So I am going on Tuesday 3-30 for my vax. I will choose specific time slot on Friday in a followup email. My coworkers are delighted. As they are with news from HR today that 'all' library staff can now register.
I think supply must have increased. I am fully satisfied with my experience being notified, registering and getting an invite as soon as my group came up.

Otherwise, it poured rain all day here so far.
Plant it and they will come.

Linda - good to know, but also a good example of the mixed messaging that is being distributed.

Mixed messages indeed, I took Tylenol before I got my shot because I have a bulging disc in my back that is pressing on my sciatic nerve, it's been a real bitch!!! Angry I am feeling fine, my arm is feeling way better. Smiling

Sally, that's great that your going to get your shot on Thursday. Hurray!
