Well, here I am.

I did laundry for exercise today. Then hung stuff out on the line before the rain started. Now it has started with light drizzle so there will be an extra rinse cycle!!

I must have gotten off track, so a lot of catch-up! Congrats to Ann, Sally and Margaret? for getting the first shot! Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! About painkillers; yes, don't take them before, that's what I heard, but as soon as your 15 minutes of waiting are up, then take them. I took some ibuprofen right after. It does take time for painkillers to work. I can always tell when I've forgotten to take my ibuprofen dose because I start hurting! I'm back to ibuprofen because I seem immune to the Diclofenac painkilling effects. It's almost time to go back for my yearly check up, so I will find another NSAID to take.
Beautiful here, I'm heading outside to work in the perennial bed. I'm almost down with all the spring garden and yard work. I worked at an MG project this morning.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

I haven't had mine yet. Another 9 days to wait, but already I feel a weight has lifted.

I'm wondering whether one really needs to take any painkillers at all. I never take one after a regular flu shot, except maybe at night the first night.

After my shot the nurse said if it was painful to take Tylenol. I think the reason not to take it before is perhaps because of possible interaction with the vaccine in some people. Shrug!

Way early in this thing it was being said that Tylenol was somehow 'bad' for an active infection. (wasn't it?) I would opt for a different NSAID.
Plant it and they will come.

Tylenol isn't a NSAID. Those are things like ibuprofen, voltarin, etc.

I changed the bed today, washed sheets. Ordered stuff from Sam's. I started exercising on my recumbent stepper, but a friend came to visit so I think I only did about 15 minutes. Beats a blank, I guess.

I went birding today, up and down the marsh. So that was some exercise, chased after the tree sparrows. Then we went to a fish grill place and had some nice white fish in butter and vegetables.

Oh, well, I had no idea ! Thought everything that was the newfangled non aspirin pain relief type thing was an NSAID. Shrug! Thank You! when in fact aspirin is an NSAID. Huh.

I took 2 ibuprophin the day AFTER my 2nd shot, but it was only because I had a splitting headache. I'm sure it was a reaction from the shot. I didn't have to take any more as that seemed to take care of the headache and it didn't need a repeat.

Well, I have headaches all the time, so wouldn't know if I got one after the shot. Taking ibuprofen on a schedule keeps them away, or at least on a manageable level. I have no idea why I have headaches, neither does my doc. She's done certain tests to try to determine. At least I know I don't have a brain tumor, so I don't have to worry about that!
We have waves of thunderstorms moving through. Someone on the Texas Weather thread just mentioned she had a tornado warning going on where she lives. Hope we don't have them. Tornados at night are very scary.
Big, busy day today, as usual.

Lynda, do you have a basement? Anywhere to go in case of tornadoes?

We have a chance of severe weather today, probably the same system.

We can go in our hall. When we moved here, we determined that to be the best space to be in case of a tornado. We would pull my sons mattress from his bed to put over us, his bedrooms the closest to the hall. I saw an article about folks killed by tornados, and many of them are killed by a blow to the head from heavy objects hitting them.
The local and National weather forecasts have said the worst area of the storms will be South and East of here. I know we did get some high wind gusts last night; I went outside and saw the wind dismantled an old rose trellis at the side of the house. It just fell apart. I had bought a new one to replace it already.

I'll be going to work.. phone calls which are more than half about appointments and most of others to pick up reserved books, .., computer tasks, planning a take away craft idea for little kids.. yesterday seemed weird all abuzz about vaccines for staff...
I made a craft kit with corn, soil, cups and a coloring and info sheet, they've all gone to future gardeners Thumbs up

In theory I have some time before work on these days, for garden, in reality I don't want to get dirty for Thumbs down just a half hour of garden. Sighing!
Plant it and they will come.

The only exercise I got again yesterday was cooking, my back is still out putting pressure on the sciatic nerve so my leg hurts all the way into my foot, darn miserable. Anyway as long as I take a couple of Tylenol #1 I can tolerate standing to cook so I made a huge pot of chili, 7 meals worth, we had some last night and it was really good. The rest will go in the freezer today, maybe keep one container out. Grin

I hope you feel better soon Margaret. I used to have back pain in my early 40s, I was miserable to say the least. Worst yet, I could only sit down for 2 hours max on special seat. Thank goodness I discovered acupuncture in early 2000s, ever since I can sit and stand long hours working, painting with no problem.
Anyway today I will have no exercise either, possibly work in the garden later, I have to do food shopping. But the good news is I finished cleaning up my garage, first pass though, I will go through all the photos as second pass. My husband still has to go through his slides. He's taking his time though.

Margaret, How I do know how that feels when that sciatic nerve is going wonky! Mine hurt so bad this time last week that I was ready to go to the chiropractor! I had severe issues the last year of my work. My original doc had retired from the business so I had to find someone else. I just picked a name of the phone book and ended up with a doc I just loved. After he listened to me talk about the pain he told me to get up and walk back and forth for him. Puzzled, I did what he said. He then asked me if I had feet issues. Well, my mouth dropped open and I said well, yes! He then asked me if it was plantar fasciitis and bone Spurs and my mouth dropped open again! I said how do you know? He's said he could tell by the way I walked and said that was causing my spine alignment to shift putting pressure on the nerve. He asked me did I want to have surgery and I said no, but I was planning to retire soon. He said that in all probability my problems would mostly disappear when I retired. They have! He did have to adjust me a couple of times, but then I was fine.
I'm fine now I think because I did some special stretching exercises that he had given me back then.
Karen, we are fine. The worst storms are going to be in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.

Hoping all of you with aches and pains will be feeling better soon.

Last night, 30 minutes on the bike. I've been told that it's MUGGY outside today. Will find out after lunch when I do the monthly drug store run on Super Seniors' day. In addition to the 20% discount on non-sale items, there's a $10 gift card (or equivalent points) if you spend $50. Unfortunately it doesn't become two if you spend $100. Pre-Covid, I'd go to the drug store twice or to two different stores if I needed a lot.

I think I will likely do more time on the bike after bells tonight. Our plan is to record another selection for future use. Then we get next week off and start a new selection after Easter.

It will be close to 20 C today which is uncommonly warm for this time of year and we had a thunder storm last night - also very unusual. Tomorrow and the next day are supposed to rain. That's actually very good because when the snow goes, there's a mold all over the grass - snow mold and my allergies know it. The rain should help remove it.
Ann
