That sounds like a good solution. Hoping and praying it goes thru to let you stay, Lynda.

I woke up to rain. Looks like no outside activity today.
Plant it and they will come.

I also hope that everything works out for you to stay, Lynda.

A gray day here. Not raining at the moment, but they are predicting around 30mm of rain - well over an inch.

Good luck, Lynda, I hope everything works out for you. Crossing Fingers!

No exercise for me other than cooking, my back is just horrible. I am fine sitting but as soon as I get up and start walking around or slightly bend over the pain starts in my back and down my right leg ending in a burning pain in my right shin. This is killing me, I like to be active, and I worry I won't be able to garden this year. Sighing!

Good luck Lynda. I got a noticed yesterday that my loan was sold to Fannie Mae. This is the 3rd resale after the initial refinancing.

Anyway, I got up late, so waiting for the coffee to kick in before I go swimming. Today is no cook day. We will do a take out, my husband's preference or choice today. He gets to drive the car around by himself while I go swimming, he needs to practice shifting with 6 gears vs 4 gears( he used to this previously). Right now he is not as smooth.

I understand, Margaret. I can't do nearly as much gardening as I used to due to back and leg pain. I did manage to walk (slowly) on the treadmill for half an hour this morning. I've really been doing more time on my recumbent stepper than the treadmill due to the leg/ back issues. Not good for my osteoporosis. I need to try to walk more.

Thanks for all the well wishes! It's very much appreciated. Margaret, I'm really worried about your back issues. With that burning pain running down your leg it really does sound like a sciatic nerve issue. Do you have a chiropractor? Have you ever been to one? All I know is that a chiropractor cured me with my sciatic issues. Well, maybe not cured, but the adjustment gave me instant relief.

Margaret, no gardening would be a terrible hardship. I hope that disc gets itself right, or whatever it is..

Really wet out there, so far I stayed in and sewed- shortened a Tshirt dress from maxi to knee and used the cut part to add pockets. Then patched my jean skirt that I love to throw on and garden in. Have spent so much time in 'her' she's my old garden buddy. Hilarious! I broke down and threw away one pair of 'gardening' pants, there really is a limit to how much old crappy only-in-the-garden stuff I should hang on to. Rolling my eyes.

I have bread to bake and chicken cacciatore promised for dinner-
Plant it and they will come.

We didn't get the rain last night that was forecasted, so as soon as the kitchen floor dries we're going out and finishing the raking, cutting and burning in the back yard. So glad to get that done!

I hope you feel better Margaret. It's terrible to have back pain.
I did 45 minutes of swimming, it was very pleasant. One of the thing I like about swimming, no pain exercise. Today I did more hand exercise and the left hand felt less pain. I was able to turn around with less restriction on my spine. I notice the problem when I first got back to swimming. I also like to bend down and let the hot shower massage my lower back, it seems to bring relief for the lower back.
But today I will do more exercise in the garden. The swimming is just the minimum base I need to do, if I can do more later then I will try.

Lynda, I have been to a chiropractor, about 15 years ago, after the second visit he said he couldn't do anything for me, it hurt really bad when he twisted my body, so he sent me to a message therapist, I tried that for a month, she couldn't help either, because of the osteoarthritis in my spine. My sister has the same problem, she was so bad she has had 3 Rhizotomy procedures, nasty and it only helped some.

Wow. Well, the first chiro I went to hurt me terribly, but I was game to try again with a new doc. He was great, and didn't hurt me at all. Having arthritis in the spine makes it hard for any treatment to be successful. That Rhyzotomy treatment has been done on several of my friends. It didn't help them much, either.

Lynda, he is a good chiro, DH has been going to him for close to 20 years, and he always fixes the problem in his back. I tried physio and that didn't help either.

Sorry things are a bummer, Margaret. I've got a few things I want to do outside but I'm waiting for the energy to return. Every day is a crapshoot as to how I will feel.

I got some cream from the dermatologist on Thursday and my spots are starting to get less bright and fade away. My feet still look the worse. DH says that the blood pools there, and that makes sense.

Margaret - do you do abs exercises? I had a lot of back problems when I was younger, but when I started doing lots of abs in aquafit, I had no more problems. (With no aquafit, I need to get back to an abs routine).

SoCal - your husband will love the 6 speed. My previous car was 6 on the floor. And I'm sure he'll get used to it quickly. I went into my current car, the first automatic I've owned, kicking and screaming because it's getting very difficult to find a standard transmission these days. But the standard is mostly really useful in a place with real winter as driving in a lower gear helps a lot with the traction. At least I have paddle shifting and CAN shift down if I feel I need it.

We took a walk around the two crescents and I got around ours again before it started to rain more than I wished. About 2 km and I"ll spend some time on the bike tonight too.

About chiros, I've got absolutely no use for them. I'd take a good physiotherapist and/or massage therapist over a chiro any day. A good physio wants to get you healed and out of there while the chiro wants you to come forever.

Ann, I have extremely strong abs, have been working them for 25 years with weights plus crunches. I used to do leg raises but last year found it too hard on my back.

I don't think that all chiros are like that, DH usually has 1 to 3 visits depending on how bad his back is and thats it, the problem is usually fixed.

No, I don't think they're all like that, either. Of the three I've been to, I think only one of them was that way, the one that hurt me. I sure was glad he retired to take care of his mother; that was the reason for finding a new one! It took just one treatment and my sciatic pain was gone. Hasn't come back, either. I thought it was last week but did the exercises and all is well. I last went in January 2019.

Margaret, you might need to be evaluated by a neurosurgeon. Have you had a MRI of your spine lately? Sometimes laminectomy or discectomy is the only cure.

Karen, I had a C scan in 2018 and saw a neurosurgeon about 6 months later, at the time he said there was some spinal stenosis, but not enough for surgery at that time. Sadly I think it has changed and I need another evaluation. Sad
