I got about 12" of snow yesterday. Shoveled my driveway three times. This morning on my way into work, roads were icy, but just fine... took an extra 5 minutes or so to get to work. But it's free moisture! Yay!!! We need about another 180-200 inches of snow to help w/the drought.. doubt we'll get that this year.

It is warm today but poured all night and still raining some now so I can't really even take a walk around the garden. I am so ready for spring to come and things to start growing.

I added lots of new bulbs to the southside rose garden so it should look truely nice this spring. 500 large flowered crocus, some hyacinths and a fair amount of tulips. It already had some tulips and daffodils that come up each year so now it just should be more pretty than usual.

I planted a total of 4,999 new bulbs last fall. All over the yard, only a small amount compaired to the total are in the southside rose garden. But that area always looks so pretty in the spring when the daffs and tulips bloom that I just wanted to make it prettier.

That was really too many bulbs to manage. It took me half of October and all of November to get all my bulbs planted. I added crocus, daffs and tulips mostly. But spring is going to be so pretty.

The last day of February so that means it is almost March. Been a cold February here after a warm fall and winter before Ferbruary. So maybe this means the worst of the weather is over and spring weather will arrive soon. As soon as March gets here I do start to think of working out in the garden.

I am thinking I need to start my spring rose prunning early March this year. Last year everything starting growing so early that by the time I did get my prunning done, I was behind as it already should have been done sooner. So I want to be more oprganized this year. But its not anywhere near nice out for working outside yet.

Thinking of spring. I just ordered 4 o'clock tubers from Easy To Grow Bulbs. I have ordered those tubers there before and they always do well for me. I like four o'clocks. I have some each year that self sow but I want to plant the tubers in some spots where I want those 4 o'clocks to be growing for certain.

Well, I'm not going to be planting anything, or seeing anything, grow for a while. These were taken this past Sunday. First picture was while we were shoveling (the 2nd time that day) and the second picture was taken that night after the 3rd shoveling.

And then we got more snow on Tuesday... this was taken mid afternoon out of my office window.
