I only use 1/4 of the recommended dosage and depending on time, I would apply once a week or sometimes once every 2 weeks. I do sometimes use rain water to mix it. I my mind, it will have a maximum effect.

I have been using the recommended amount on the bottle of fertilizer. I use it every other time that I water my plants, which is several times a week since it has been getting pretty warm here (Florida) during the day and my plants need more water than once a week now..

That's good to know! I have to use diluted amount because I have several seedlings and I make only one batch of mixture. I do not want to over fertilize. So I adopted the fertilize weakly weekly rule.

Also, in some cases some of my desert roses or orchids are blooming already and some will drop leaves if they get over fertilized. Or the tips go brown.

GigiPlumeria said:Oh I do have one extra that is not part of my adenium Agro-thrive challenge. Over a month ago, my husband came home with a hanging orchid pot with an orchid that died from crown rot. Our friend thought I could revive a dead orchid Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing . But when I looked the roots seemed to be healthy but the orchid was dead and for few weeks there was no signs of life. So whenever I have left over, "general purpose" Agro-thrive, I just pour it on this "dead orchid".

Look closely, this might be a wishful thinking, but there is a baby shoot coming out. Now I have to buy orchid bark to see if it will survive. Whistling

Update: surprisingly healthy roots, removed dead stuff, cleaned and soaked with hydrogen peroxide and water for a few minutes.

New look, soaked the entire pot and bark with mixture of general purpose Agro-Thrive and rainwater. Giving it 10% survival rate.

Update Oct 10: I'm starting to be optimistic that this is going to make it!

Update 10/2021:
Closer inspection shows the new growth has a new healthy root. Makes me feel bad about all the orchids I tossed over the years thinking they are not going to be revived.

Update: April 1 (not an April Fools joke). I almost forgot about this until I saw the blooms. The leaves got damaged not sure 🤔 why but the blooms are big and beautiful 😍!

Ok, Gigi's post convinced me, I'm going to buy some for at least my indoor plants. I think it'll be too expensive for my outdoor containers though, but I'm tempted.

Always nice to save a plant.

It is always worth a try to save plants. I stayed away from Phals for a long time because I can't seem to make them bloom. Now this little orchid inspired me to give Phal another try.

Some find the Agro Thrive smelly though but almost all of my plants are outdoors. And I use less than the recommended dosage.

Try a sample first.

For indoor phals, I fertilize early in the morning, let the smell dissipate before bringing the phals back indoors.

I had to cut it almost half the original height, so there were no roots below the caudex. She was only relying on aerial roots for survival and I had been feeding her "general purpose" Agro-Thrive.

Can't wait when this will be full of blooms!
I repotted her into a shallow fancy pot and since beginning of spring I switched to "Flower and Fruit".

July 29 - first applied Agro-Thrive:

Thank You! Since I live in Florida where it gets really hot and the media dries too fast during our dry season my media has more potting soil than recommended. But for your area, you probably will need any fast draining medium. Desert roses do not like getting wet feet.

So mostly you would want the cactus/succulent potting mix (with no peat moss) with a mixture of pumice or perlite or coarse sand. This way the water will drain fast. (I told my sister in law in Michigan to keep it simple to just get a professional bonsai mix with no potting soil, because she has to grow hers indoor most of the time.) Desert roses cannot be outside when temps drop 50 below. Their stem or root would rot fast. They have similar care to me as my succulents.

You can also visit the Adenium forum and there are members there who helped me a lot with my adeniums that had root rot.

Thank you Agro-Thrive for helping my 10+ years old adenium "Sweetie Pie" recover. I almost lost her to root rot last June 2021.

Throwback:
She was a 2014 Mother's Day gift from hubby and daughter, and this was her May 8, 2016. She was taller, I've had her for 2 years in this ATP nka NGA photo. She is seedgrown so she is irreplaceable.

Wow again! What a fat strange looking plant. And amazing that you have succeeded to bring it back to life and blooming. Long long time ago I purchased 2, one at a time, they were both pretty small but flowering, and both of them, one at a time, rotted----so I have not tried again----I will one day. I was so afraid to kill it if I forget to water it, so I killed by watering too much and probably using the wrong planting medium. I will do what you suggested if I get a plant one day----

Gigi - My adenium loves the fertilizer too! It had so many blooms on it this Spring, I was amazed. All after using the Agro-thrive fertilizer. Thumbs up
