Rhapsody - do the cuttings still look viable? If so then keep doing what you're doing! And patience!! If not, then I would change the soil - even if you just add perlite or some sphagnum moss - and replant. I noticed that some of my cuttings took longer to root - even though I took them all at the same time on the same day and planted them all side by side in a long windowbox planter...the ones that weren't doing anything I repotted in a different plant mix and they began rooting! (don't have any idea why?)
I tip my hat to you.

Yes they still are firm. Most of them have rooted but there are about 9 that seem to be taking their sweet time. Rolling my eyes. I will behave.... for now.LOL nodding

Believe me I understand!!! Hilarious! Moving the ones of mine that weren't doing anything did make them root, so if in another week or so there isn't anything, I'd move them. I tip my hat to you.

Ok, I'm so curious! Meanwhile my epi is on the bottom shelf of an old bookcase, in a large windowbox - I have lots of cuttings in there, don't know how many - anyway, I hadn't looked at it that close for a while, then I noticed something on the next shelf up and I was thinking "what the heck is that?"
The epi sent out a "runner" going behind the bookcase up about 4 feet - crazy! "Little shop of horrors"! Rolling on the floor laughing

Sheryl, (Hi there Michigander! Thumbs up ) Yes she did!! I repotted and moved mine outside, in what I thought was shady - not shady enough Grumbling so they're not looking so good right now, I know they'll be fine, its just silly - I keep thinking that the grow lights are at least close to the strength of the sun, and so therefore they should be fine going from strong grow lights into semi shade outdoors - nope, they need more protection I guess! I tip my hat to you.

In my garden, I make sure to give the epis some good watering before the hot sun hits it, and it copes well. But it is very dry here, nada rain, so that watering easily dries out before the day ends.

I really thought I'd had them in a good spot, some filtered sun, (I moved them out more than a week ago while it was still sunny and hot here) guess it was too abrupt for them. This is 2 times (maybe 3 that I've done this with my tenders this year...don't know why I can't figure it out!) Shrug! Hilarious!

I have 3 of these they were all given to me as cuttings. I put them in the soil and they root. I do not remember how long it took because I was traveling at the time and really ignored them. It might have taken a few months.

It took my first plant 3 years before I saw a bloom. I was reading a Epi Forum and they used a beer fertilizer. I started making this fertilizer up and the one I waited to bloom for 3 years bloomed so I started watering all my Epi with the Beer fertilizer and they all bloom faithfully in a year or two.

The red blooms in March.

This one I just got last year and has not bloomed yet. I will be feeding the beer fertilizer this summer.

Okay, guess I have to google beer fertilizer! :P Thanks Cinta for info...Mind were all rooted, I was just moving them outdoors for the summer, and put them in too sunny a spot too soon Thumbs down I am already seeing new growth on them though, so they'll be fine!
Also, I heard they like to be pot bound to bloom, and have planted them in smaller pots than I normally would have
I tip my hat to you.
