Beautiful day here, 76 and mostly sunny. That's good as it was supposed to rain all day and I had a lot of outdoor events.

But it's supposed to rain all night starting at midnight and continuing until 8 am. I should go see if the spider climbed out of my rain gauge so I can set it up again!

Sunny, beautiful 74. Crisp after last night's rain which dumped 6/10ths of an inch. Spider lady has definitely decided the rain gauge is her home and will not be coaxed out

59/65F cloudy. After the utility thought we were powered up, they got a surprise...as in, no we're not. The local outage map actually grew overnight and this morning with no restoration time available. what was the point of spending millions on "smart meters"?

It was a lovely day today. Mostly sunny, but every now and then the clouds would build and we would have a very brief shower, but then the sun came right back out. High of 66 F or 19 C.

We have had absolutely perfect weather this weekend with sunny skies and highs in the 70s.
I managed a bit of yard work yesterday and got out for some kayaking today. Add in some sweet potato tacos for dinner and I declare the weekend glorious.

My Julia Childs rose is looking pretty too.

And here is something seasonal from my neighbor's garden, a Pumpkin blossom…not nearly as classy!

Central New York: RAIN for three months, and everything is soggy, roots have drowned on most of the garden. Ground is squishy, mosquitoes are thick, fungus growing on everything. Tomatoes and beans drowned. 100 year floods. We got all of the west coast's rain.

Instead of using meat, I grate a big sweet potato and then sauté with chopped veggies and taco seasoning (cumin, chili powder, oregano) and serve in a corn tortilla. Yum!! It is my vegetarian version of a taco.

Did some garden cleanup this weekend and watered a bunch. Went to grandson's football game Friday night and another grandson's soccer game yesterday afternoon. Our new grandson from Africa played yesterday. He's extremely good at maneuvers he learned in the orphanage, but now he needs to learn the rules and basics of the game. He's used to playing on dirt in a small area with 2 big rocks for goals and they just split up the kids each time for teams. But boy is he fast and has some great moves
