I remove them from the pots and it's easier to remove the soil. Trim off all the roots and leaves and tuck them in a cool dark spot to sleep.

Do you put them in a bag with peat? I have left mine in the containers and after a few months in dormancy add a little water once a month. This past year I was remiss in giving them water and there was a lot of shrinkage, this year was one of rebuilding.

They are all dried first , then put in large storage container and covered with sawdust placed in a cool dry place .
