Hmmm so you have me stumped Gigi...well the other thing about FLA that is tricky is so many people move there after they've retired, and since I have know idea of your age, it could be that you're from the east coast and moved south, or Chicago and moved south! The new growth that my 'pencil cactus' grew inside when it warmed up.

Would someone tell me where they have ordered semp's & Sedums that arrived in good shape & preferably just bare roots not in pots of wet soil?
A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!

Also Chris (goldfinch4 has a cubitz) here is the link to her store
http://cubits.org/TheSemperviv...
Because of her weather she is only just now shipping, so this is probably a good time to order with her!
I think I have my first plant order coming!! Thumbs up And her prices are very nice!

SMG = http://squawmountaingardens.co...
Smg sends the plants in little brown paper bags, and I've always gotten 1 hen with several chicks

Young's = http://www.youngs-garden.com/ they give a free plant with each order, something you didn't order so you can try a different one!

Perennial obsessions = http://perennialobsessions.com... they're website is really pretty! So many plants!!

Hope this helps Jojoe!!

I did not say Chris' website cause I haven't gotten the plants yet. And SMG is only place other than friends, family and local nurseries and plant sales here where I have gotten plants. I hoped she shipped bare roots but wasn't sure. I now am so glad to hear she does it that way.

I think due to her harsh conditions my plants will acclimate to my Colorado High environment really well.

Am so looking forward to getting her plants, Should arrive in next day or so.
Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!

Edited to mention plants from family

Awesome photos Arif.
The pink flowered one I think is Heart Leafed Ice Plant (Aptenia cordifolia). Love the leaves on it. http://keyserver.lucidcentral....

I have been trying to find out what your yellow flowered one is. I have that plant, it came from a packet of mixed succulent seeds. Does yours need protection from freezing? I've kept mine in the house during winter because it looks like it might not handle freezing.
Have you posted it in the ID forum? With the bloom photo Janet may be able to help us ID it. Mine has not bloomed yet.

I'm not sure, but I think the last one is Crassula capitella 'Campfire'.
Crassula capitella 'Campfire'

Love that tiny cactus in the first two photos.

For some reason and I think I know why the Plant ID forum is a no go as far as succulents are concerned. Succulents is niche gardening and not mainstream gardening. A kind of specialized gardening and non of the succulent enthusiasts frequent the plant ID Forum. In the end I seem to ID my own plants.
All these succulent forums spread out should come under one head, under the main head the sub forums can pop up. A person has the choice to go where he wants and then there should be a succulent ID forum as another sub forum here in one place. Maybe then the succulent enthusiasts would frequent that forum, maybe I don't know. Birds of a feather who hate watering, lazy?
Where is the Grapto enthusiast Tarev these days. I could use her help.
Sorry but true, non of the succulent specialists frequent the plant ID Forum. I have to send a tree mail to Lynn for her to come and try her hand, only then she comes but Lynn is is sub niche, Semp, Sedum and other funny things specialist and not a general succulent specialist. Who will bell the cat Shrug! .
Regards,
Arif.

Wish I could be more help with the cactus, but I know nothing about them. Have you tried here? http://garden.org/forums/view/...
I would post a new thread and see if these cactus lovers would be able to help ID them for you.
