Daisy exciting that they are alive!
Tarev did you get a new camera?? Your photos are usually good anyway but those ones are really awesome, great job! I'm not even so interested in these types of plants but the pictures are wonderful!
Thank you I tip my hat to you.

Editing just to add another shot taken a few minutes ago..as the temps continues to warm up..it is gradually opening..I can see something more, the sun will hit the the plant some more later, eager to see how much more the petals will open up:

Thanks Tara!

Love watching its day to day bloom show, today it is really warm here in the mid 80's already, and the bloom looks like a slightly raised petticoat of sorts, still upside down, but the middle part is easier to see:

It will always be upside down. It looks to me like its completely open now.

I got another Sarracenia from the garden show in San Mateo last week, don't know which type it is, but I like that it will be easier to insert some insects in the pitcher Smiling

You don't need to feed any of your carnivorous plants - they do that all by themselves. In fact, if you feed them, you are taking the risk of over-feeding them. You may just kill them.

That's why, when you plant carnivorous plants, use the least nutritious plantng medium you can find. Unfortified milled peat and perlite, maybe a little charcoal. I've never used charcoal because I've never had a problem with my medium going sour.

I got a pitcher that looks a lot like your new one last summer. I'm not sure what it is either so it stayed inside. The rest live out in a bog in my garden.

Oh I know that! I only feed them if I happen to catch some errant insects indoors, but I generally leave them alone. I am more worried of them drying out, too dry here.

But my other carnivores like the nepenthes, I help them a bit, they stay indoors more, so their chances to feed for themselves is slim. When the weather is not too onerously hot, I let them stay briefly outdoors.

When I had to grow mine in pots (because I had to protect them from raccoons), I had the pots sitting in big saucers of water. That's all they need - wet feet.

The treefrogs felt those saucers were prime nesting boxes for their little tadpoles. My daughter was in charge of keeping the saucers full. The frogs kept her awake at night. She wanted to know what they were saying. I told her they were saying "Take care of my children". She did. Smiling

Aww..I wish we have frogs here! Just too dry!

So far I have repotted my PInguicula..I am still trying to find courage to attempt repotting at least the Sarracenia psittacina, but it seems much better this time around, I see more pitchers coming back from its winter dormancy compared to previous year. I guess the rain/cold event of last winter was really to its liking. Smiling

Here is a photo of one of my Sarracenia with about a dozen little buds on it. The second is a photo of bogs #1 and #2. There is a third back further.

Thanks for sharing your photos Daisy! Oh, that 2nd to the last photo, looks like the new one I got! Do you happen to know what type of Sarracenia it is?? Love that photo, something to aspire for my new one. Lovey dubby

I made a booboo on a sundew before, I put it on shade, but it was just too hot outside, it just dried out badly, poor thing Sad
