Very very nice plant. I never see this pretty Pinguicula gigantea in the plant and garden stores that I go to. The ones sold on-line are never large enough for me to order price wise with shipping etc. they would not live... Watching a cute one on Ebay $15.00 for a 2.5" pot.... Wonder if I bought seeds, would it be better.
I also enjoy watching all of your plants on the other threads. That makes me happy.

Glad you like them Ivy! I won that Pinguicula gigantea at the carnivore show auction. Really impressed how big it was so I really waited when auction time started. I don't see Pings in local stores either, so I really go to the plant shows or the carnivore show itself to see them.

I am not good at seed level of any plant..so I can't say if it will be easy. With our growing area here more often dry and drier it is a challenge at times.

There is no plant shows or carnivore places where I live in Manhattan, N.Y. So I will check on-line to see what comes up. I like the compact shape of the plant.

I saw the different ones and sizes but the less expensive ones are so tiny looking. The site does not give the size of the pot it is grown in, the pot looks very small, 2"-3"?. $14.95-$29.00 not counting the shipping. Eeeeek! Going to order from Ebay or elsewhere.
Thanks for helping. Going to ask a friend who lives in Florida to find one for me if they are not too busy.
Thanks again, edited, saw that I had typed for the pots, feet' instead of inches". Old age strikes again.

My carnivore postings will be on the new CP forum from here forward.

So for now I will have updates of my Eulophia petersii here, my first year to have a desert orchid so just documenting how it grows, it was dormant during winter.
June update: slow growing is an understatement indeed...really, really slow! But it is fun to see it blend in nicely amongst my regular succulents Smiling

I posted on the wrong forum for a plant ID. Called it 'Mystery Plant'. One said it was a butterwort? Simular but not the same. What do you guys think?

HI Stush, that is one pretty plant, but the edges of the leaves seems spiky, butterworts mostly have smoother edges. Is the leaf sticky? At this time of the year butterworts have sticky leaves.

Tarev,
I wish I knew. This picture was sent to me by my son who never seen one like it before and asked me what I knew about it. Thanks for the spike tip. Leads me to believe it is in the bromeliad family. Looks like maybe water in the center?

Don't know the where abouts of this plant. I think it's something my son's wife saw and took a picture of, but I don't know. I would like one myself.

I did a Google image search and found this: The plant is a Bromeliad from Pinterest pinned from the Facebook account of The Lovely Plants, a landscape and garden design magazine.

Daisy, That's it. Hurray! Your the winner. I tip my hat to you. You found it. Thumbs up Many thanks. Big Grin Wow what other colorful bromeliad they showed. I think I'll try my hand growing them by seed again. 1st. time, they all sprouted, maybe 50. Extremely slow in growing. One little mishap with over watering, and I lost them all. They were a year old and only 1/4 inch tall, too small to transplant.

It has been awhile since I have put an update on my Eulphia petersii. Slow growing indeed it is. But it enjoyed our hot and dry summer. I was away most of summer too, but it is good it endured well. So this September, I have finally been able to resume some watering as needed. It is cooling down now overnight, so I am observing up to when I can keep it outdoors safely before I hide it indoors.

It has made new pseudobulbs, who knows maybe next year it will make new flower spikes from those new ones. Smiling

@Tarev:

Some people become designers, and furnish our homes or choose our clothes. I see you as a designer in choosing amazing unusual plants, that seem to always thrive.

I often wish you would just come here, like some magical Plant angel fairy god person, and place your unique and beautiful plants of your choice here and there, and they would live happily every after. Maybe in my fairy tale fantasy, you come back once a month to check on them.........

Always great to see what you're up to!
