Thank you all. Today she's posted a few "I'll show YOU!" posts in response to my long and detailed report. Typical.
OK, subject change!
It's so cold and raining like mad. I moved my containers out to get a good drenching. This is rare for us!

I guess this light snow on the ground now from overnight will kill off the last of the Cilantro and Dill. Those had still been holding on and growing.

Rita, do you ever grow radishes or other cold weather things?

Cool weather. It's hard for my native Californian brain to understand the difference between cool and cold! To me, today's 54 and rain are FREEZING!

No, don't grow them.

The cilantro has recovered from this mornings snow. I can't believe this stuff is still growing in mid December.

Yupper, 54 would feel 'not so bad' for here now.

CIlantro is surpisingly happy in cold weather, mine still looks fresh and happy. The chard is PO'ed, though Hilarious! If winter isn't too rough, it may yield a cutting next spring.

It's official- Adding CARROTS to crops I have sucessfully grown! Uzbek golden carrot, pulled them on Thanksgiving. Tonight, I chunked a couple and cooked them with brussels sprouts.
Plant it and they will come.

Cilantro and dill are winter crops here, cilantro and thymes love any snow they get as well, ice, kills it all.

I didn't know that about dill, I guess I can go ahead and start some now then if it doesn't mind cold temps. Thumbs up

I had no idea cilantro was so cold hardy!

Dill is one of the first things to sprout in my garden, it self sows rampantly - last spring it looked like a lawn in the area where it had grown the previous year Whistling

I'm here, just busy trying to wind up the year. I adore toads and frogs, they have the most beautiful eyes, like jewels.
I love snakes, too. Any reptile or amphibian is ok by me.
I have dill and parsley seedlings coming up, so I'm kinda glad I won't have to plant more seed.
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.

Does anybody else besides me thinks fresh parsley tastes bitter? Thinking I miss growing it but after trying some fresh...uh-uh.

I save my seeds for Italian Flat leaf parsley, I have so much heat tho, it bolts first year and dies. I have no room for it this year, so no fennel and no parsley. Here is 1 Bouquet Dill in the lemon thyme.

And volunteer fern leaf dill with one catnip volunteer, in spite of new dirt, chuckl. It stays because it is soft and pretty

Cilantro is also pretty and needs a haircut, at this season. Peppermint loving the weather, determined to fill its space.

Ran from rain coming in - my daughter brought me a bag of sprouting onions, told her I can plant those. She was not happy, chuckl

The over night low last night was 28. So below freezing. But the Cilantro is still hanging on.

It's to be 36 tonight. I'm bringing my containers into the living room after it's dark. They've been out in the (cold) sun all day.
