My Baker's Creek catalog arrived recently, unfortuanately I saw it the day after I had gone through to old catalogs from a few years back.

They call it rare seeds, ya, the catalog is so small compared to earlier ones , finding any thing actually rare, is rare.
Oh well, better than nothing for the pretty pictures if nothing else.
Merry Christmas. I tip my hat to you.

I'm not sure I understand Baker's goal with that, you know it's only a fraction of what they list online. So I guess it is eye candy to get you to their site. Different idea than the Pinetree or Southern Exposure, newsprint paper and entire listing.
Plant it and they will come.

I'm planting Albion strawberries tomorrow, in a large porcelain container. There were bare root strawberries at the garden center but only one 6-pack of plants which I grabbed because I can have fruit long before bare root plants would bear.
Talk about lucky-later I Googled and learned that Albion is known for sweetness and is everbearing! Does anyone grow Albion?

Hard to say. I could only plant them in pots; maybe that was the case or perhaps the dirt was wrong. Shrug!

Strawberries need high Nitrogen once they are growing. Fast drainage, afternoon shade with a bit of cold on their toes. California strawberries are awesome when they start coming in. I have to rabbit proof my garden, wanting some this year...
So many roads to take, choices to make, and laughs to share!

Kat, what would be the best plant food to buy? All I have right now is citrus food.

Only apply high nitrogen to strawberries early in the spring or when first planting them. 10-10-10 commercial fertilizer can be sprinkled at the base of the plants during the fruiting season. Then some higher nitrogen fertilizer after fruit bearing season before overwintering, say after September. Nitrogen will help the vines and runners get a good start, but during the growing season nitrogen will grow the green parts and restrict berry growth. Fertilization following this formula can be from either commercial or organic sources. Mulch and organics is what strawberries like and don't overwater.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For days of auld lang syne

We twa hae run about the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit
Sin days of auld lang syne

And we twa hae paidl'd I' the burn
Frae morning sun 'til dine
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin days of auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For days of auld lang syne

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp
And surely I'll be mine
And we'll tak a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere
And gie's a hand o' thine
And we'll tak a right gude-willy waught
For auld lang syne
