I took this in the rain this morning because i wanted to remember to send it so you could tell me what you think of the combination of colors. I was not too sure I liked it at first, but now I am happy with it. We have six of these sitting around the barnyard just to "pretty it up a bit". They have only been planted for a week but we have had some nice rain and some sun. I have not had to water all week. Thumbs up

The yellow are small hybrid petunias, the variegated is Plectranthus Coleus and the orange/red is Lantana.

I am glad you think they are cheerful, I thought that also.

Love seeing all the planters. Here is how a few of mine are looking at the moment.Thumb of 2013-05-22/Jewell/f18dd0 Thumb of 2013-05-22/Jewell/445e10
Thumb of 2013-05-22/Jewell/bac916 Thumb of 2013-05-22/Jewell/0dd4f2. Some with a mix of grass, dahlia and lily are just taking off. The dogs keep eating the ornamental grasses even though they have three big pots of wheat to chew on. Glare Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious!

Jewell, what is the large leafed plant in the second photo?
I love the huge blooms on the petunia. Is it scented? Very pretty, and so full and healthy looking.

Lynn, the large leafed plants in the white pot are sunset runner beans. Hopefully the will supply some much needed shade on the south side of the shed and good eating too. Hurray! The petunias are doing surprisingly well but no scent to speak of.

Jewell, beautiful pots. My dogs do the same thing here to that grass. Is it northern lights? Do dogs like wheat? Is that like wheat you see in the fields in eastern Washington or some kind of wheat grass? I'd like to find some for my dogs.

The grass in the first pic is Deschampsia caespitosa 'Deschampsia caespitosa 'Northern Lights' (Tussock Grass). The one they really like is Phalaris arundinacea (Reed Canarygrass) in the second pic. I haven't been real good at keeping the little fences around the pots Sticking tongue out . I planted some winter wheat for them last winter. They have been keeping it mowed all spring so I'd be surprised if it ever sets seed. Hilarious!

We planted Stipa tenuissima (Pony Tail grass) in a pot with some Nepeta racemosa 'Walker's Low'. My daughter's cat loves the Pony Tail grass and ignores the catmint. Hilarious!
